My exciting birth story!
Last Thursday around 10:30pm I started having contractions. They were not consistent with timing but were really painful (they were coming anywhere from 2 minutes apart to 10 minutes apart) so I decided to head to bed just in case I woke up in "real" labor in the morning. Around 11:30 I got up because there was no sleeping through them. I called SO around 12:30 and told him I might be in labor and I will let him know soon whether to start heading home. He works OOT over two hours away.
Well, around 12:30 I called him back and told him to get home. I labored for another half hour before I called him again and begged him to come home. The contractions were now around 2 minutes apart. He told me to wake his parents who we have been staying with and get to the hospital.
I woke his parents and MIL drove me to the hospital while FIL stayed with DD. On the way to the hospital I started going numb with each contraction and I knew I was in transition. Luckily we hit every green light!
Got to the hospital around 1:45, they started wheeling me up and I started saying that I needed to push (along with begging for an epi, the contractions were SO intense. So much worse than DD who I also had med-free). Got to the room, I climbed into bed and started pushing immediately.
DS was born at 1:56, 11 minutes after arriving at the hospital and after 4-5 pushes and 3.5 hours of labor. He might have came out sooner but I could not focus and properly push because everything was happening so quickly. I had two tears, one second degree and one right by my urethra (which burns like the fires of hell when I pee).
SO arrived around an hour later. He was really disappointed and might have arrived earlier but was pulled over on the way. Luckily the cop believed his fiance was in labor and let him off with a warning, We ended up staying at the hospital until Sunday morning because I was GBS+ and obviously did not have time to get any IVs. He and I are doing great! He was 7.7lbs and 20.25in.
