Come on egg!

CryingI just went through my first cycle of IVF. I know that the likelihood of getting pregnant the first time is a pipe dream, but I am feeling discouraged! I went in for ER on Monday and they only got 2 eggs.  The nurse called yesterday and told me that one was not mature and the other had not fertilized yet.  She said that sometimes donor sperm takes a little longer because it was frozen.  I am eagerly waiting for a phone call today asking me to come in tomorrow for transfer. At this point I figure that it is not going to happen, but I am still hopeful.  I know that this is a long journey, but it is so discouraging!

    I would be discouraged also with only one potential fert egg, but don't let it tear you down! it only takes one. Discouraged is ok, do NOT get defeated

    Oh no GL Gigi!  Can they mature the other egg in the lab?  I was reading a woman's blog and her lab was able to mature her eggs and she got 5 more embryos.  Just remember all it takes is one, even though we like to stack the deck when we put ourselves through all these treatments.  I will be praying for you. JM

    So, the RE called and no luck this cycle.  It was my first cycle, so hopefully we can learn from the issues that I had this tie.  It took my follies a while to develop and my hormone levels were a bit low.  They kept increasing my Gonal F, then added Menopur at the end which seemed to work.  I am interested to see what happens next cycle.  I was advised to call my RE on day one. I know this is a process, and of course I am dissappointed, but definitely not defeated!

    So sorry!
    DS#1 born 9/23/06 
    Twins DS#2 and 3 born at 31 weeks, 3 days due to a short cervix on 8/2/13.
