My little one is almost 23 months old.
To me she doesn't look large... When she is running around in her diaper you can see her little ribs.
She is 22 Months old and weighs 34 Pounds and is a little short of 35 inches tall. All calculators online tell me she is off the charts so it worries me.
I think she is eating healthy...
Her problem is that she doesn't play around alot She's not very active at all. She is the slowest walker in the world!
The only active thing she likes to do is jump on the bed... ![]()
I know she is young... But I do need to encourage her to be a little more active.. What active activities do you guys do?? We go to the park... but no running around for little princess lol...
Her meals eacg day go a little something like this...
8 A.M. - Pancake with Blue Berries, cup of Milk
11:30 A.M. - Pasta with Tomato Sauce and Okra, Sippy with Water
2 P.M. - Cup of Peaches/water
5 P.M. - Beef and veggie Stew/ crackers
7 P.M. - 7 oz milk
Does that sound healthy enough? Too much??
TIA
Re: Very Concerned with her Weight. =/
Thanks for remembering!
My grandmother was admitted into the hospital so my mom hasn't been here, Then we had to evacuate due to the Hurricane so I found an old friend to stay with, and OH just got word, that he'll be stateside in 2 days so we are leaving! Thank God!
I'm very very happy! My mom has been home here and there, but I keep little as far from her as I can.
Everything worked out to keep her away from my little bit so I'm still mad about the whole thing, we won't be visiting often to say the least... >:l
My DD is the opposite. She is bearly 24 lbs, if that (she turned 2 in May). I hear a lot about fattening her up.
I think what you posted sounds healthy, it is just portion sizes and lack of activity. My girls are always running and jumping no matter where we are.
I think it's wise to look at the family's nutrition now. My neice was sent to a dietition at age 7 due to being "obese". Of course it doesn't help to teach her how to eat if the groceries aren't bought and the whole family eats like crap.
I think at this age it's more about building healthy habits then really worrying about the scale.
The diet sounds healthy. Do you force her to finish? Do you let her find her own level of fullness?
In terms of activity does she like dancing? helping in the gardening? Playing with water? Climbing things in the playground? Kicking and throwing balls? Playing chase or hide and seek?
Again I'd just try and get into the habit of there being activity in the day that is fun. Not because I think your little girl is fat, but because building the habit now will help her as she grows with fitness, weight management, getting fresh air, aids in keeping depression at bay etc etc etc. There are lots of ways to be active throughout the day that doesn't have to mean running.

I think she's fine, dd4 weighs the same, although slightly taller. All my girls were chubby toddlers, but somewhere between two and three it disappeared when they got more active. There isn't often junk food in the house, and they eat what they want (they are very good about eating only what they need). What your lo eats in a day sounds alright. S has her moments where she might eat more than that, or quite a bit less, I don't fuss over it. As long as she gets her fresh fruit and veg every day, she's a happy camper.
I truly think once she becomes more active she'll even out. DD was always in the 90% for weight before she turned 1. The once she started walking, then running she evened out. Enough to where her Pedi has sometimes asked me to keep her on a higer calorie diet. She's 27 months and 29lbs, 36 inches (60%).
Your DDs diet sounds perfectly fine.
She was about 31 lbs and 36" at 2 years. That's 90th percentile for height and weight. She's proportional, and she's thinning out as she gets older.
I think the best thing you can do is encourage her to play outside. Run around and kick a ball. Go to the park and climb the ladders. Just do normal kid stuff. Offer mostly healthy food choices, and she'll be fine.

Thanks everyone!
Great Ideas! I never even thought of doing a fun obstacle course! Sounds fun! I might even start losing some weight haha! Not that I'm fat just toning up would be nice.
I did find a Toddler group yesterday, I'll be calling them today. So I'm thinking if I get her around other toddlers her age it will encourage her to be a little more active and all.
We just started playing with a ball. She just gets bored with it super fast.
I will try and find a balance bike... I just wouldn't know where to look to find one.
Oh yea.. I've been giving her fruit cups instead of real fresh fruit is because I can't seem to get fruit into her any other way.
I never really know when she is full. I do try and encourage her to eat her meals... maybe i should stop. I only worry she'll be hungry asking for less healthy food later in the day. She barely sits still during meals. And if I tell her to stay seated, her feelings get hurt and she'll say she's all done... when I know she isn't and it's just her way of tantruming.
So I encourage her to eat atleast half of her meals.
Thanks again everyone!

Thanks everyone! We tried going outside to play around with the ball and all she said was "Ew grass, Inside" and took off inside. we tried 3 times and resorted to jumping on mommy's bed. Lol >.< We'll try the park today. =]
And yes that pic was taken within the past week. =]
Thanks again everyone!
She looks adorable! Buddy was really lazy until he was about 2 1/2 and then its GO GO GO. Granted he's always been very petite. He also hates grass/dirt. Every time we're outside everything is "gross"
If she loves to jump, maybe get her one of these
