Two baby related questions

1. I have the My Breast Friend pillow. Should I get the Boppy too? I remember hating it for nursing, but using it for positioning and stuff later. Thoughts? Opinions?

2. We got the Arm's Reach Mini Classic CoSleeper. I read somewhere that they take regular bassinet sized sheets. I got some cheap BRU brand ones, but am thinking I may want something a little nicer. Recs?

Thank you!

  • The only benefit to getting a boppy is that it's good for tummy time.

I'd look around at some consignment sales to see if you can get a good one for cheap.  I think the Just Between Friends sale is happening in your neck of the woods pretty soon.

  • I loved my Boppy for nursing so maybe I am biased, but I liked using the Boppy to sit J up while he was napping and I was nearby, and also for tummy time.  Those are the only things I can remember using the Boppy for right now.
  • I used the boppy for bfing and didn't find it as supportive as the my breast friend I used in the hospital, but it was fine.  I still use it to support her for bottle feedings, so I've gotten some good use out of it.  It's also just comfortable as a couch pillow when I'm bumping.
  • I hated the hoppy for BFing, but C loved it for tummy time, when she was first sitting up, and when she was about nine months started using it as a pillow in her crib and she's still obsessed with sleeping in it. I have a twins my breast friend for BFing this time around, but still bought two more boppys for our twins.

This is my siggy. Love it.

  • I sat on the boppy because it took the pressure off my stitches. I hated it for nursing. I have a MBF and love it. I have not used the boppy for tummy time, yet.
    I make cute babies.

  • I was given a boppy, or I wouldn't have bought it. I have a shitton of pillows in my house that worked better and I could manipulate them into the position I wanted. I vote consignment store on the sheets, I personally hate spending extra cash on short term or "shiny thing" purchases.

I didn't BF with my boppy but still used it up until DD got a couch for her birthday (1st) it was easy to lay her down and give her a bottle once she started to hold her own, and she would nap on it in the living room on lazy days..I think it's worth the investment. Also like PP said, they make AWESOME couch pillows! I just put our away. It's still in good shape too so we can use it again.

I used the cheap ones, if you want something a little more plush use a small blanket to lay under baby. We broke the "no blanket" rule early with DD because she hated the stiffness of the bassinet we had and only wanted to fall asleep while being held. Using a blanket under saved us money (instead of buying pricey sheets) and comforted her.

    Thank you!

  • I used my boppy for tummy time, a place to prop her up until she could sit, and then positioned behind her while she was practicing sitting. It was great for those uses, I never used it to BF.
