What kind of poop should I be expecting?

We have been EP but my supply seems to be lowering and DD wasn't getting enough since I have been making 2 or 3 ounces... Sometimes less... So I had to start supplementing with formula, I give DD the breast milk first, wether its one or two ounces and then give formula for the remainder . I know that while breastfeeding the poo was yellow, pretty much odorless and LO could go multiple days without a poopy diaper and it all be normal, so what should I expect with a breast milk and formula fed baby?

Re: What kind of poop should I be expecting?

  • I'm doing FF and his poops are yellow and pretty smelly. I usually get 2 poopy diapers a day from him. So I would say she should poop a little more often and it might have a slight odor and definitely still yellow.

  • I FF and BF also (about 1/2 and 1/2)  LO usually poops once every 2 days and it doesn't really smell either, it's more formed like peanut butter whereas with us BM poops were loose.  But, I'll also say I think it depends on the formula you use. When we were using Target brand it was more formed and when we started using Enfamil Infant it was less formed and more frequent (like the last 3 days she's pooped everyday).
