I think it really depends on who is coming to your shower. If you're having a lot of out of town people, I've always thought Saturdays were best so that folks don't have to rush out of there immediately following the shower, but if everyone is local I don't think it really matters.
I personally hate Sunday showers. I have church in the morning, so I either have to skip or bolt immediately after to attend a shower. Also, if it's out of town, a Sunday shower eats into my travel time, and traffic tends to be horrible on Sunday afternoons.
Strong, strong preference for Saturday on my part.
Thinking of just you the MTB, do you have to travel to this and would appreciate a day off before going back to work? Have it on Saturday. Other than that I wouldn't have a preference.

I had my bridal shower on a Sunday and my baby shower on a Saturday. I strongly prefer Saturday showers. You get to rest on the Sunday before going back to work, have time to put things away and recuperate.
I prefer Saturday showers. It will give you all day Sunday to put away and organize things you got!
This is what I did, but half the people that were invited didn't come due to weddings and family reunions. I did get gifts from most of the people who didn't come.

Agreed. We had one baby shower on a Saturday and have another one coming up on a Sunday. Having something big to do on a Sunday always makes our weekends really hectic and stressful, but Sunday works better for MIL and she's throwing the second shower.

Everyone has a valid point. I chose Sunday at first so that people could have all day Saturday for family stuff and then come to the shower after church. But now I'm leaning more towards Saturday so that people don't have to rush after church and out of town guests will have decent travel time.

Agree with both of these statements. My Mom chose Saturday to give my Sunday to rest, etc but a lot of people couldn't come because of other plans. In the end I'm glad we did Saturday. People that didn't come sent gifts anyway which was very generous of them.
It depends on who will be invited & maybe even where it will be held. For me Sunday is the only choice, I am Seventh-Day Adventist & we want to invite people from my church,as well as hold it in the fellowship hall of my church(free!!). However the majority of the showers I've attended are on Saturday.
We always do Sunday showers because we're Jewish. So otherwise, can't say which I'd prefer! As PPs said though, Saturday could be easier for out-of-towners.
I'm having mine on a Sat. I think its best. For me, I like Sundays to be lazy and get stuff done before going back to work. Also, with church and a shower, might be to much for some people when they just want to take it easy..

Agree 100%
my shower is on Sunday just because Saturdays are filled with people doing errands or famiily/kid activities.
Sunday tends to be low key outside of church. I figure I have several weeks to put things away:)
