Tub cleaning help!

So, I scrubbed our bathroom yesterday. I have discovered that getting down and scrubbing our tub is not an option anymore. My stomach gets in the way. So I need to find some sort of solution to keep it clean without scrubbing. Thanks!

    Your husband

Or just get a long handled brush.

  • Another vote for your H. I had him do almost all of the cleaning involving chemicals throughout the nine months.  It was kinda irrational, but breathing in Clorox fumes just seemed kinda wrong at the time.  More practically, I was dead tired and then eventually it was just too hard to get up and down.  It didn't kill him to clean for nine months, especially considering I do it, oh, always.

  • Equal parts of dish soap and vinegar mixed together, spray on tub, let it sit for 1 hour. Rinse and it will be nice and clean! I used this to get the stubborn dirt stains off the bottom of the tub.

This sounds like perfect! I would get DH to do it, but he has pretty bad OCD and just cannot handle the bathroom. He says it's gross. I don't mind it. I am anal about it anyways. I normally just use soft scrub and scrub the hell out of it.

  • I used to scrub the tub while I was showering. I'd sit in the tub and scrub away. I could get the bottom/lower sides of the tub easily that way.

  • Your husband.

Though when I tried to exercise this option with my son, my husband "forgot".

Do you have any family member that can do it?

Get a Scotchbrite scrubber. It's $7 and extends to 3 feet.

  • Goof off rust spray, gets rid of soap scum and hard water build up, zero scrubbing. Just spray, wait, and rinse.
  • I use scrubbing bubbles and a magic eraser... it's amazing how clean and sparkly it gets.

But, then that would require scrubbing.... so ignore me.   :D

The dish soap (Dawn Original works best, also, heating up the vinegar to almost boiling makes it most effective) trick works wonders. And it's safe for pregnant women!

This! Better than anything on the market!

This recipe is wonderful.   It worked well by just spraying it on and waiting.  I know this isn't feasible for you at the moment, but I was tired by the waiting part so I ended up putting the solution in a soap dispensing sponge and give everything a quick spongedown during a shower once or twice a week.  Works just as great and no waiting.

however long the night, dawn will break.

  • I would say either a spray that you can just leave and then rinse (some pp's had good suggestions) or maybe get a mop with a sponge bottom and just use that...
