Question about round ligament pain?

Happy monday everyone! Maybe some of you experienced this and your input can ease my mind.. With my last pregnancy I had round ligament pain between 12 weeks and 14 weeks, but I would say it only happened once a day or when I changed positions suddenly. With this pregnancy it's all day everyday since 8 weeks, when I slightly move, I slightly cough, or anything its like a knife in my side. Im just over 13 weeks now and it hasn't eased up at all. My doctor says it's probably because my uterus is growing so much faster since I'm having twins, but I just was curious if any of you experienced it this much/this often. Thanks in advance for your input!

Re: Question about round ligament pain?

  • Mine wasn't necessarily strong or sharp pain, but I had a lot of discomfort and dull aching and sciatica and hip spreading from about week 7 through week 13. I've been doing pretty well the last two or three weeks, but the BH are a little more common so I'm trying to stay uber hydrated.

  • I had it frequently with my DS, I have it daily with these babies since week 9 or 10. It is normal but not fun, you can press on the ligaments to release tension- this helped when my chiro would do this with DS, I do it myself now with the twins and it helps.

  • Yep. Everyday since about 11 weeks. It can be brutal.

Usually once I get moving and walking around I will start to feel better, but getting out of bed every 2 hours at night is hard. I have to make sure to stand there for a second before I try to walk or I wil double over in pain (and then pee on myself).

Coughing, sneezing, rolling over - it all hurts. Every now and then I will just be sitting here and it feels like a knife in my lower abdomen.

Sometimes I need a heating pad and sometimes i sit with an ice pack between my legs. Whatever works.
