XP from 03 reflux meds

Hoping some of you ladies with a little older babies can help me gain some insight here...

If your LO is on meds for reflux which meds are they on? DS has been on Zantac since about 3 weeks old. He had his dose adjusted almost two weeks ago, and after a few days on the new dose he was such a happy baby...the past few days, he's regressed back to arching, screaming, coughing up a storm, etc. He JUST had his dose adjusted so I can't imagine they can up it much more...he's already on 1.25 ml three times a day. I've heard Prevacid is an option but that it's not recommended typically for little babies because it may not work...something about not having the right receptors or something I don't know. Has anyone else experienced these meds and at what age? What did you find worked for LO?

It took 44 cycles, just over 3 years, 6 failed IUI's in MI, and 1 round of IVF at CCRM to get our BFP!

    L has been on zantac since she was 6 weeks old. She is now 4  months and 16lbs and the dose is 1.8ml twice daily. It is weight sensitive so she has had it upped multiple times. I would just call the doctor and let them know and see what they say. It definitely works for her but when the dose stops working we can tell right away. Good luck, hope your LO is feeling better soon!

    My one son is on Zantac but I've heard of people swearing by gripe water for reflux.  One woman said it cured her daughter's reflux and she didn't need medications.  I also use the gripe water.  I would also call the doctor though and mention that despite the adjustment, he is distressed.

    I had similar problems with DS1. He ended up being on 3 different meds before finding one that worked. I can't remember the name of it (it's been years!) but talk to your pedi. Good luck!

    My little guy has been on Meds for a few months. He started out taking zantac 1 ml 3 times a day......it seemed to work at first and he also started regressing. We went to see a gastro doc yesterday and is now prescribed prevacid. He also takes an over the counter liquid antacid called gaviscon. I highly recommend both. We definitely see a difference and its only been 2 days. Reflux runs in my family and I know zantac didn't do anything for me......definitely ask your doctor about changing the Meds........hope this helps!! Sorry for any grammar issues, I'm on my cell.
