Small in the morning, Big in the evening

Anyone else notice a big difference a day makes in the size of there belly? I notice some days at the end, I am huge, and then when I wake up, I am alot smalller. Anyone else have this happening? Everything is ok with me and the baby, just wondered if anyone else was experiancing the same thing.

  • The same thing, you will notice, happens when you step on a scale.

    It's food and hydration.

  • Oh yes, I notice this too.  Not only does the size of the belly seem bigger, but it FEELS significantly heavier.

Yes! You all have educated me so well on the whole fluctuating scale thing. I was perfect weight Friday, and then this morning, not so good. Hot weather and humidity are back. All new to me since I have A: never been pregnant and B: never owned a scale before being pregnant. So bizzare

  • Feet too - not even pregnant lady feet, but even non-pregnant persons. They're smaller during the day and bigger at night. Also, another random fact, but you're taller in the morning and shorter in the evening too (horizonal sleeping then vertical being awake and gravity pushing you down.

I'd say your belly size is just baby/organs settling in spaces while you sleep (most likely you sleep horizontally) then re-adjusting to new positions as you're awake (most likely you're vertical when you're awake). Also, as pp have said, your fluid levels and daily weight fluctuations have their effect(s) as well.

I don't weigh myself at home.  I just let the doctor's office do it, and I don't even really look when they do.  I figure that it will just depress me to keep watching it go up, and that if they see a problem, they will talk to me about it...  And she hasn't said a word about my weight so far.

Ya, I was never told to get a scale, but when they told me 4 pounds a month was the weight gain they wanted, I figured I would get one to do what they said. Not sure why it waas said, but I was trying to follow everything they told me to do. Alot of stuff I have had done or test I have done, no one I know who has been pregnant remebers any of them. I am to much of a perfectionist I guess and its going to bite me in the butt while pregnant, I can feel it.
