My 8 week old has always been gassy. The pediatrician keeps telling me all babies r gassy. It doesn't seem to be getting better. Wen did u know it was time to switch to gassy formula?
My doctor told me that I can freely switch our LO whenever I feel the need to do so. If it was me, I would switch to a formula for gas and fussiness now. As long as you stay within the same brand name, we were told that you didn't have to wean them from one to the other, that you could just switch. But if you are going from Gerber to Similac you have to wean from one to the other. My LO is on Similac Sensitive for gas and fussiness and it has helped some, but he is still a gassy kid. At least now he isn't writhing in pain from it.

We tried Similac for Gassiness (orange top) and Enfamil Gentleease.. they didn't seem to work. The best by far has been Gerber GoodStart Gentle which we have been using since he was one month old. You may want to try it. The only bad part is that it does make him pass gas alot and the poopy diapers are disgusting....but much better than seeing and hearing him scream. Now that he is over 3 weeks, it has gotten much better by far! Good luck and hang in there!
My LO does really well on Similac Alimentum. He still farts but it doesn't make him scream anymore. The bad thing is it is so expensive. I'm looking into if our health insurance will cover it.
Re: Formula for gas....
We use similac for fussy/gas with the orange top.
