Bad week -- vent

I'm not sure what is wrong with me...maybe my period is finally returning but I'm just having a bad week so far.  Yesterday I got a clogged duct in my right boob while I was at work.  This occassionally happens to me but typically its on a first day back after a long weekend or something.  This one is more painful than they usually are.  I thought DS pulled it out when I got home last night and nursed him, but it was back this morning :-/

DS typically wakes up around 7am to nurse but this morning he woke up at 6 and was signing for milk (YAY! we have been working on this for a few weeks now) I figured since I had the clog I would feed him on the right, even though his first nurse of the day I always start on the left. (Why do I do this? I have no idea, I just started doing it and now my left is always full in the morning and it takes righty a few hours to fill up) DS then fell back to sleep, which is totally not his normal routine.  By 7:30 lefty was very full so I woke DS and nursed him on the left.

I knew that this would mean my first pump of the day wouldn't yield nearly as much, and I was right.  I typically get between 6-7 oz. on my first pump, I got 4 this morning.  Then I went to pump this afternoon and when I typically get 4-5 oz., I got 2 :-(

I'm not sure what is going on...I feel really b!tchy and kind of weepy this week.  DH just called me and I started crying when I told him how much I pumped today.  I'm not really looking for an answer here...just wanted to vent and complain a little.

Oh, and I think I still have this freaking clog...I can't feel it, but my boob still hurts...I'm ready for this week to be over!

  • He will be 7 months on Saturday. He just started doing it the other day and we have been working on it for about 3 weeks. I've only been teaching him to sign for milk but he has been equating it to all food.
