Re: GTKY: Let's talk about our Homes.

  • What type of residence do you live in? House

Do you own, rent, live with your parents/relatives? Own

How much space do you have? 3 bed / 2 bath, just over 1500 sq ft 2 car garage.

What are your thoughts about raising your child/children in your current location? We live in a very small town, about 20 minutes from the base my husband works at. We bought here for the small town school. My oldest is in the middle school here and loves it. We'd love to stay we know everyone on our street, and we are miles away from the main road which means if you're in our 'hood there's a reason for it. Well be sad when the army moves us again.

What would your dream house any residence type contain that your current location doesn't have? I'd love a bigger master bath, and a pool here in the south!

  • What type of residence do you live in? House, Condo, Apt, dorm? House

What are your thoughts about raising your child/children in your current location? We chose this home because of the neighborhood and school district, so I feel great about it!

How much space do you have? Not sure on actual space, but it's a 2 bedroom, lil smaller then what we liked, but in a few years we are going to start adding on, and our basement is partially finished with 2 rooms.

What are your thoughts about raising your child/children in your current location? Love it, we live in a small town, and are about 3 blocks from the schools, our neighborhood is great.

What would your dream house (any residence type) contain that your current location doesn't have? an extra bedroom and a second bathroom.

  • What type of residence do you live in? House, Condo, Apt, dorm? House

Do you own, rent, live with your parents/relatives? Own

How much space do you have? 2200 sq. ft.

What are your thoughts about raising your child/children in your current location? We have a 3/2 plus upstairs bonus room.  If we only have 2 children, it would be perfect.  If we have more, we'll probably want another room or 2.

What would your dream house (any residence type) contain that your current location doesn't have?  A pool, a little more land, 4-5 bedrooms and a huge laundry room.

  • What type of residence do you live in? House, Condo, Apt, dorm? Home

Do you own, rent, live with your parents/relatives? Own

How much space do you have? Around 3,000 sf

What are your thoughts about raising your child/children in your current location? We are where we want to be. One of the best school districts in the state and we love our neighborhood.

What would your dream house (any residence type) contain that your current location doesn't have? I can't think of anything. We just built this house and moved in in June. It's funny because this house didn't have everything on my initial wishlist. But when I saw this floorplan I fell in love. Our builder is awesome and his construction quality is top notch.

ETA: The only things we've talked about adding to the house are a pool, fenced in yard and possibly a wine cellar (our basement is huge and only a portion of it is currently finished).

Do you own, rent, live with your parents/relatives? own

How much space do you have? 1100 sq./ft.

What are your thoughts about raising your child/children in your current location? I think it's ok for now. I wish the schools were better and that our place was bigger but that is a worry for another day.

What would your dream house (any residence type) contain that your current location doesn't have? Location wise- Better schools. House wise- More space, more privacy, an office/ man cave for H, an office/ craft room for me, and a nice yard with a pool. Not a lot, right?

  • What type of residence do you live in? House, Condo, Apt, dorm? Apartment

Do you own, rent, live with your parents/relatives? We're renting

How much space do you have? Only 740 sq. feet, but it's enough room for the both of us.

What are your thoughts about raising your child/children in your current location? I wouldn't want to raise any kids in the area we're in now. The schools aren't the best and I would want to move into a bigger apartment or a house before we have kids.

What would your dream house (any residence type) contain that your current location doesn't have? A wrap around porch and a big backyard.

  • What type of residence do you live in? House, Condo, Apt, dorm? House

Do you own, rent, live with your parents/relatives? Own

How much space do you have? around 2300 sq ft.

What are your thoughts about raising your child/children in your current location? We are in a great elementary school district, so I am fine staying where we are while they are in elementary school, but would like to move by the time they are in high school.  Pluse, we really want a house with some land, outside of town.

What would your dream house (any residence type) contain that your current location doesn't have? More bedrooms, two floors, a few acres of land, a pool and a HUGE kitchen!!

  • What type of residence do you live in? House, Condo, Apt, dorm? House

Do you own, rent, live with your parents/relatives? Own

How much space do you have? This is terrible, but I don't 100% remember. 3000ish sqft?

What are your thoughts about raising your child/children in your current location? We live in a kick a$$ neighbourhood that is a 5 min walk to a really good elementry school and a 10 min walk to a great park/splash park. I would really love to move to another city but am too in love with our area to leave!

What would your dream house (any residence type) contain that your current location doesn't have? A pool, a bigger garage (at least 2 car), 1-2 more bedrooms, neighbours that were further away.

Do you own, rent, live with your parents/relatives?   Own

How much space do you have? What are your thoughts about raising your child/children in your current location?   A little over 1100 sq ft., 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 1 story slab house.  I like the neighborhood, I'm not thrilled with the school district, though, so I'd like to move before our kids would start school.

What would your dream house (any residence type) contain that your current location doesn't have?    More space and definitely a basement/more than one level.

  • What type of residence do you live in? House, Condo, Apt, dorm? townhouse

Do you own, rent, live with your parents/relatives? own

How much space do you have? 1750 sq ft.

What are your thoughts about raising your child/children in your current location? We picked our current location with children in mind.  We're right across the street from a tot lot, and have a huge field.  We're in a good school district (even though we don't plan on staying in this house long enough for our kids to be in school - but just in case).  There are a lot of other children/couples our age in the neighborhood too.

What would your dream house (any residence type) contain that your current location doesn't have? Our eventual house will have: more parking (only 1 spot and 1 "visitor" right now), an in-law suite (for DH's mom - it's our plan for her to live with us when she retires).  I'd like a stand-alone house with a HUGE kitchen!

  • What type of residence do you live in? House, Condo, Apt, dorm? Apt for the moment.

Do you own, rent, live with your parents/relatives? Rent

How much space do you have? 710 sq

What are your thoughts about raising your child/children in your current location? Oh heck no! It is to small for DH and I.  We are moving to a condo the end of Sept. and I can not wait!

What would your dream house (any residence type) contain that your current location doesn't have? Well I would love to build a house back in Tennessee, 4 bedrooms, a HUGE kitchen (DH and I love to cook and we have way to much kitchen stuff ) I would also love a big pool in the backyard... Oh Pinterest you give me to many ideas :)

How much space do you have? About 1000 sq. ft. I wished I had more but for the two of us it is enough and I do not think I could keep up with cleaning more space.

What are your thoughts about raising your child/children in your current location? I have no problems. Probably will need to move by the time we have a second. Our neighborhood is good for kids as well.

What would your dream house (any residence type) contain that your current location doesn't have? More yard, space, more privacy.

Do you own, rent, live with your parents/relatives? Own

How much space do you have? About 1700 sqft

What are your thoughts about raising your child/children in your current location? DH thinks it is too small, I say it is just right. We'll probably add on at some point, but not for a few years. Our yard will be awesome for a kid - we have 1/2 acre, and are surrounded by acres of USFS land, so lots of cool stuff for a kid to check out and play around in.

What would your dream house (any residence type) contain that your current location doesn't have? A pool, but that is sorta silly here since we have private beaches for the summer and it snows in the winter. My dream house is a French farmhouse, so I guess historic old charm is missing?!

  • What type of residence do you live in? House, Condo, Apt, dorm?

We live in a two-story duplex.

Do you own, rent, live with your parents/relatives?

    We rent.

How much space do you have?

3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms between two floors.  I have no idea the square footage.  We have a small backyard.

What are your thoughts about raising your child/children in your current location?

I'm really happy with it for now.  We'd like to buy in a few years, but until then I love where we live.  It's a few houses down from the med clinic where I work (~10 second drive).

What would your dream house (any residence type) contain that your current location doesn't have?

It'd be a single family home with a big backyard and a larger living area.

What type of residence do you live in? House, Condo, Apt, dorm? End unit,3 story, townhome

Do you own, rent, live with your parents/relatives?DH and I bought our home two months ago

How much space do you have? 2804 sqft including the garage

What are your thoughts about raising your child/children in your current location?  I love the location because it is near many playgrounds and other kid friendly places. The layout of our home is very open so even if we were in one room we would be able to see a child in another room. There is also a daycare at the end of the main road so doing a drop off would be easy on the way to work. Since we just purchased the home I have many ideas (some baby related and some not) running through my mind.

What would your dream house (any residence type) contain that your current location doesn't have? I would like a linen closest in the main hallway. I remember when I was a kid that one shelf was dedicated to board games and our current home the linen closet is in one of the bathrooms. We have a half bath on the first floor, a half bath on the second floor and two full baths on the third floor. I would like to have a full bath on the first floor so guests dont have to go to the third floor to shower.
