Avonlea Rose is here!!! Love my new baby!

Short version: Avonlea Rose born on August 16 at 7:27 p.m. 9lbs 4 oz. 21.5" long. Absolutely perfect : )

On August 16, at 2:57 a.m. I woke up because my husband was mad at the dog for waking him up. I decided I had to go to the bathroom, so I went in and my water broke the second I walked in. Thank goodness, it was the tile floor and not our bedroom carpet! I waited to make sure thats what it was, but I was pretty sure, because I still had to use the restroom. I woke up my husband and he called the doctor. She called back a few minutes later and I told her what happened. She told me to come on in. So, I took a quick shower and we finished packing our items. We drove to the hospital and got there around 4:30a.m. We were in a good mood on the way to the hospital and I really wasn't nervous at all. I had about 3 light contractions on the way there. After I checked in, they took me to a room to check and make sure I was in labor and then wheeled me to l&d. They then hooked me up to pitocin and did my i.v. A little while later, maybe 6 a.m., my doctor came in and told me since I wanted an epidural, there really was no reason to wait to get it. So I got the epidural. I chilled out and watched American Pickers on t.v. I had ice chips and popsicles. The epidural didn't fully work on my right side so they rolled me over and it eventually started working. Later on, it wore off of that leg again and I could feel them on my back at about an 8. I complained and cried a little so they came in and tried to fix it. It worked up close to time for me to push. My back then had the worse pain I have ever experienced in my life. The doctor was upset with the anesthesiologist and told them I did not sign up for this and that they needed to fix it. They tried and eventually got the head of anesthesiology in there. That fixed it a little, but it still felt horrible. I cried and cried it felt so bad. I pushed for 2 hours and 20 minutes and the doctor told me that we were going to have to do a c-section of the next set didn't work because we didn't want the baby in distress. I told my husband he needed to pray and pray out loud and he did and then so did I and FINALLY out she shot at 7:27p.m.! They even used the vacuum and it popped off twice : ( But when she came out my husband hit his knees. They laid her on me and it was the most amazing thing in the entire world. She was still attached. Apparently my husband cut the cord, but I was busy staring at and kissing my new baby. When they took her to clean her I remember thinking, "Give me back my baby!" She weighed a beautiful 9lbs 4 oz and was 21.5" long. I love her to pieces. She is mine and my husbands world now. How amazing is motherhood?  : ) I wish I knew how to post photos.

Oh yeah - I had my membranes stripped Monday and went into labor Thursday. I also walked a mile the morning before I went into labor.
