Tips on Scheduling

How do you ladies stay on a schedule? No matter how many lists I make and how hard I try it is so hard for me to stay on track. Lately I feel like I get nothing accomplished.

Re: Tips on Scheduling

  • IMO, I think it depends on the age of your children and what there days consist of.  I work part time and DD is in school 2x a week and DS is yet to have a set schedule of activities, he is only 1.  I plan my days week by week.  I use to have a whole month scheduled of activities and errands, but then I learned it was exhausting so I make a list each week, and that really helps.  I also look at my priorites and what has to get done gets done.  For example, I work out every morning and then I do my errands and then home for naptime for the little kids.,

  • My daughter is 17 months. I think my problem is I try to do too much. Schedule too many outings, playdates, errands. etc.  Maybe I need to lower my expectations or something.

  • I would first start with the most important thing to schedule- naps and bedtime. For me, this is the most important because if they are well rested we are all much happier...LOL. I always have them nap at the same time, for my sanity. Bedtime falls at the same time too. The next most important thing I schedule is meals. Again, if they are fed and full they are happier. Everything else I just fill in during the day. Naturally, we do our schedule our activities in the morning because everyone is happiest at that time. That's how I would start; Find your priorities, what you want to get in during the day and at the same times everyday and go from there.
