QOTW: What is/was/will be your first purchase for your multiples to be and why? Our first baby purchase was one huge purchase all at once. Lol. We purchased both cribs, changing table, and a double stroller all in one setting. The store was having an awesome sale, everything we purchased was marked down and we saved literally $500+ and got it all for $360. I'm really set on having the nursery pretty much ready to go by 30-32 weeks. So I was a happy camper. I had bought a onsie when I told DH I was pregnant, but that really wasn't for the twins (we didn't know we had two baking yet!)

Appt update - We found out last week at the MFM appointment, Baby B is 21% bigger than A. So we have a follow up on Wednesday and will see where we go from there. I'm hoping my baby A had just not hit his growth spurt yet, but I've majorly upped the protein and water intake so I really hope that helps some!

A double snap-n-go because it was in great condition and really cheap at a garage sale!

Update: We had our A/S and everything looked great! It was a little tough to know that they now know the genders and we don't. But our willpower is holding strong!

QOTW: What is/was/will be your first purchase for your multiples to be and why?

Probably our double stroller, which will be the City Select Jogger. It's gender neutral (since we won't know genders for another week and a half) and my mom wants to purchase it for us along with the second seat. After that, it will be the cribs and changing table along with two bassinets for our bedroom!

We bought their cribs and changing table so we could start setting up their nursery.

Appointment update:

At our growth scan almost 2 weeks ago baby girl was 2lb. 10oz. and baby boy was 2lb. 3oz. I go in on Thursday for another check. Cervix is holding out at 3.8 - 3.9cm despite my constant contractions so that's great news.

Our first purchases were two cute little "peas in a pod" onesies.

Update: Strict bed rest and 10mg of Procardia every 4 hours. Cervix was 2.6cm last appointment, we're measuring again on Thursday.

First Purchase:

The first thing...actually few things... that was bought for them was actually from my Grandfather. I got home from work one day and he called me to visit him. He had bought them each a cute little sleeper and a doll. Then he took me shopping a week or two later and bought us one of the cribs and a glider. In that same shopping trip I purchased the first items I bought for them which were sleepers that said something about Daddy. This was right after we found out they are both girls.

Appointment Updates:

My appointment last week shows Baby A measuring 5lbs and Baby B measuring 6lbs 4 oz. Since Baby B is breech and bigger I will definitely be having a section. I am scheduled for 9/10 unless they come sooner on their own. Other than that everything seems good with them! I however managed to catch a cold over the weekend that I can't seem to get rid of!

QOTW: What is/was/will be your first purchase for your multiples to be and why?

I think our first purchases for our babies was between cribs, dresser, and stroller because there were some really good sales that we couldn't pass up.

Appointment update:

I had my first growth scan last week (Thursday). Baby A is 2lbs5oz and Baby B is 2lbs7oz. Cervix is still long and closed. I start up with NSTs tomorrow which I will be doing every week till the babies get here.

Update: They are no longer measuring my cervix. As of last week we were told they will not stop labor at this point and to bring our bags to each appt. They will not be scheduling a csection til second week in September, but seem to think it will likely occur by the first week in September.

Three weeks ago Emma was estimated at 4lbs 2oz and Henry was estimated at 4lbs 8oz. We'll have another growth scan tomorrow. I can't wait to see how much bigger they've gotten! I know I am A LOT more hungry now and have been feeling a lot more stretching and pelvic pain which I hope is an indication they're getting much bigger. We shall find out tomorrow.

QOTW: We thought we were having a singleton the first 20 weeks of this pregnancy so we ordered a very nice custom made crib from a local wood worker. It was very expensive, but we weren't buying any other baby furniture so we thought we'd splurg on the crib. When we learned it was twins I called the wood worker and ordered another crib . Not that the money isn't worth the craftmanship, but I spent waaaaaaay too much! Needless to say, they were our first baby purchase.

Awesome appointment today! A is breech and is estimated to be 4lbs 8oz, while B is vertex and is estimated to be 5lbs 3oz, my little chunkys! They passed their BPPs and looked awesome. I'm beginning to dilate, so we are going to do steroids to be safe. Csec was officially scheduled today for 36w exactly on 9/17, so 28 days at most! My platelets are still dropping so I'm going to be on steroids to try to prevent any need for general anesthesia.

Im pretty sure our first purchase was our stroller when we saw a great deal on it.

QOTW: What is/was/will be your first purchase for your multiples to be and why?

I bought each of them a Hanna Andersson sleeper around 20w when we found out we're expecting b/g fraternals-- until that point it didn't really seem real (and truthfully, sometimes it still doesn't).

Update-- both babies looked great at my bi-weekly NST this morning, as usual. Went to my OB for a growth u/s and I have about 10+ lbs of babies in there. Baby A (our boy) has an est. weight of 5lbs 1oz, and Baby B has an est. weight of 5lbs 3 oz. I'm super excited about how well they're growing, but got a rude awakening in that our previously cooperative vertex Baby A has flipped to breech. I really, really, really don't want a C-section, so spinningbabies.com and I are about to get really cozy.

Update: Nothing big to report . My BHs are getting so strong, but I still have a lot of energy, so I'm happy with that! MFM appt/ growth scan tomorrow and OB on Wednesday!

QOTW: After our 20w ultrasound, we bought a couple of boyish sleepers to celebrate the good news. We bought cribs and painted the room after Vday and started our real buying once I hit 3rd tri.

QOTW: What is/was/will be your first purchase for your multiples to be and why?

Our first purchase for the boys was their coming home outfits. I have a large family and waited until after my shower to buy anything else, and I'm glad I did! The only thing I had to buy was one mattress and socks! DH and I are buying diapers each week to try and lessen the blow each week. We did a diaper raffle at the shower too, so we are pretty set up for diapers as well.

As far as how things are going for me: My blood pressure has been on the higher side. I had to go to triage once to be monitored, but my pressure went down some on its own and the boys looked beautiful on the monitor. It was high again this past Friday and today they had me come in to discuss bloodwork and check my pressure again. It was a little better today. (Friday it was 150/90, today it was 146/85) So, I have an appointment on Friday again. I've been very lucky and only really started to swell today! Both my hands and feet are now swollen, though I have seen MUCH worse so I feel like I'm still doing decent!

Other than my blood pressure, things are looking good. The boys are estimated at around 6lbs each already!! And boy, do I feel that weight! It's getting VERY difficult to walk comfortably. I'm wearing a maternity support belt when I have to do any amount of walking, though I don't really leave the house that much anymore. I'm just hoping I can keep them in a few more weeks!!

I did a post above, but I had my boys on 8/14/12. They were due on Oct. 7th, so they were 8 weeks early. It is quite a long story, but they are doing really well so far.

QOTW: Our first purchase was nursery furniture- two cribs, a dresser, changing table, glider, and ottoman. It was tax free weekend in MA and we couldn't pass that up!

Update: I am feeling both girls move now It is such an amazing feeling, and DH was able to feel some kicks too! My heartburn and cramping/pressure are still there, but I am hanging in there. DH has been taking very good care of me while on bedrest. Next cervix check is next week.

We bought a 2nd bassinet and some extra sheets. I was just checking to see if it was still available and found out they were only left in the PBKids stores. I was going to wait to buy more stuff, but I got it now before it was gone.
