Trying to Get Pregnant

Drink til it's Pink question

Those of you that drink til it's pink (like me), do you mostly stick to wine/beer or do you have liquor too?

So far, I've just stuck to a few glasses of wine but my bday is this week, so I was thinking about having a martini or 2! Just curious about what others do!

What do you do? And does it matter to you if you're waiting to O or waiting to test?

Re: Drink til it's Pink question

  • It does not matter.  You don't start to share blood with baby until about 5-6 weeks anyway, so any drinking you do during the 2ww or waiting to o will not affect baby.

  • I like moonshine.  Anything I can brew in my bathtub is good for me.

  • I happen to be drinking a Mike's Light Hard Lemonade right now.  And I did happen to get schnokered up on some shots at SIL's this past weekend.  I'm gonna get it in while I can! lol

  • I'm a wine girl at home, but when I go out it's martini's for me!

I think it's fine to drink during your 2ww, my doctor told me that it has little to no effect on the baby at that point, so I will continue to have my little drinks until I get my BFP!

  • I would just like to add that I have 2-3 drink tops when I go out, and 1-2 glasses of wine at home...lol, don't want to sound like a lush!

and when I sould that I think it's fine, I meant in moderation, if I really though there was a good chance of me being pregnant, I wouldn't go all out!  I might have a drink if any...

  • I'm also a beer girl, but I tossed back several screwdrivers of T-day weekend while struggling to deal with my father.
    Dear Bump: You suck.
  • I've recently become a big fan of wine. But usually I like a nice cold beer.
  • I drink what ever I am in the mood for!?
  • Anything you want. Alcohol is alcohol.
  • It doesn't matter what you drink - there is no difference between liquor, beer, wine, etc. Also, you never share a blood supply with your fetus. ?The nutrients in you blood cross over into your fetus. ?That being said, etoh does cross readily into the fetus's blood stream. Before implantation, obviously, your fetus would not get anything from you, but after that all bets are off. ?There are NO studies that show how much alcohol. when you drink it, etc to show what leads to fetal alcohol syndrome. ?There is postulation that is likely related to binge drinking but even that is only a theory. ?There are certainly plenty of women who are drinking during their 2ww without even knowing they are pregnant and who have very normal babies but I would never be able to forgive myself IF something happened. ?It's a personal decision that you have to make.
