  I have a restraining order against my XH.  I have one year left on a 5 year order.  It does include the children as well.  The only contact he is allowed is to send letters to the boys via my lawyers office.  He has only done so twice in 4 years.  Because of the actions he took to deserve the restraining order, he was in prison for 2 of those years and is currently on parole until 2015.  The nice thing about that is that the parole agent makes sure that he has a job and pays child support.

  When I had an order on my xh 1.5yrs ago it was for the children too. Granted they were always with me so him coming around wasn't really an option for him. If there are child services involved then they have their say as to whether he should be seeing the kids supervised or not. I would recommend it tbh. You have to get tough and angry and stay angry, he might be a lousy husband but a good father but don't let that control your decision. My xh is a good father but I had found out he was getting information from my kids about our lives...like more than he should have. and the kids are too fragile to be put in that situation. Do what you think is best but go with your gut and intuition because it's usually right.
