35 wks, 3rd trip to hosp, excruciating back pain

Hi all, I am a MOM and loved this board. It's been a while! My sister is now pregnant with twins. 35 weeks and is now on her 3rd visit in two days to the hospital. She's had excruciating back pain in her kidneys. Thought it was a stone but results negative. I feel terrible the doc won't give her any pain meds. Babies are fine. Her cervix hasnt moved and shes not having contractions. Are there any " natural" remedies you can suggest to help relieve some of her pain? I feel terrible, my pregnancy was not as hard. I wish there was something I could suggest. Thanks!

Does she have a birthing ball? There are positions she can do on it specifically to relieve back pain. Hope she finds some relief asap.

When I had severe musculoskeletal pain in my pregnancy, to the point where I could not stand or walk, my doctor prescribed a muscle relaxer. It made me drowsy, so I only took half a tablet and only before bed, but that plus using a heating pad and spending a lot of time in a recliner really helped.
