All of the Republican women I know are any or all of the following:
- wealthy
- average income, but politically uneducated
- already mothers and/or finished making babies
- rednecks
In short, they are either too wealthy to care about the middle class, too closed minded to see that they might need their reproductive rights in the future or too uneducated or classless to know what the hell is going on.
I consider myself to be a libertarian now but thought of myself as a Republican for a quite a while. I am absolutely not wealthy. I am moderately politically educated - certainly more so than many people. While I'm a mother now, when I considered myself to be a Republican I was not. I'm not a redneck - unless you consider a Republican to be a redneck by definition. I have a college degree from a private accredited university and am pretty aware of social issues. My understanding of the difference between Democrats and Republican is a basic difference of opinion on the role of government. Pretty much everything comes down to that difference of opinion.
I honestly hate election time because of the ridiculous amount of mud slinging and name calling that happens. It goes beyond just the candidates and goes all the way down to hard core platform followers posting dumb stuff on facebook that accomplishes absolutely NOTHING. Everyone who agrees with it nods their heads and says, "That's so brilliant" and everyone who disagrees vents about how stupid it is and nothing is added to the conversation.
I am Republican, and Conservative. I am prolife, and I do not see an issue with what has been going on lately. Any child conceived is special - no matter how it happened. It is so unfair to kill that child because it is inconvenient for you. I also am personally against birth control, although I would never tell others not to take it.

In situations where the child's life could cause the mother to lose her life, why is a child more important than the mother?
Do you support providing government funded financial support for children born to parents who can't financially support them ? (WIC, state provided insurance for children, etc.)

Regardless of view on abortion, you do get that Akin differentiated between "legitimate" rape and presumably "illegitimate" rape, right? As in, he said that some women's rapes don't really count as rape.

Bless your heart. I'm sorry.
