Where to find disposable pads

BRU has been out of them for weeks and I checked Target and Kmart...neither one sell them or I can't find them :( I am looking for the disposable pads that you use on the changing table, playards and that you put in your diaper bag so LO doesn't have to touch the surface in a public restroom.  Any ideas where I can find some or if they are in a different section of the store than where the diapers are?

Re: Where to find disposable pads

  • I've seen them at Target, it was on the aisle with the diaper bags.

Have you considered just getting a regular changing pad and then regularly sanitize it? Less waste and more economically friendly. :)

  • We use regular changing pads and I am the queen of zip lock bags in our diaper bag. I have a 2 gallon ziplock bag that I keep the changing pad in and I keep a spare pad in the car just in case. I also keep wipes in the bag and wipe down the pad each time I use it then wash it every weekend unless something actually gets on it then I wash it that night. We haven't had any issues with rashes or getting sick or anything so I assume it is working for us.

You will go through a TON of disposables if you go that route and you will end up wasting (IMO) a lot of money. Consider doing regular pads. If you are sending your LO to daycare they use their own roll of disposable paper like in the doctor's office usually. If it is in home day care you might want to ask your provider what they use and if they would be willing to work with a reusable pad.

  • Also a good idea: If you have an abundance of receiving blankets, cut them in half to create a few "disposable" pads.  You can wash them or if they are particularly nasty, chunk them in the trash after use. I have about 3 of the thick flannel ones in the diaper bag for questionable surfaces.

  • OK--FTM question here. I have a couple of pads that I'm not sure I could throw in the washer. One can easily be wiped down and cleaned, but now that I think of it the one that came with my diaper bag is padded and covered in fabric. Do you just toss those in the wash? Clean them some other way? This is something that never crossed my mind, but I can see wanting to put something underneath it for public changing stations and even something under baby that's easier to wash. Sigh--so many things to think about!

I saw them at our Target the other day and they were in the same aisle as the wipes/toilet training type stuff.

lol,I got mine at the pet store... they are puppy training pads.

I was going to suggest this, if I couldn't find any I'd check the pet aisle they're basically the same thing. Walmart is my go to for most everything.
