How often are you ladies given ultrasounds? I feel like everyone knows how much their baby weighs and how big it it and I have no idea. I only had one ultrasound since the 20 week level II sonogram and that was just because my blood pressure was up and I was kind of freaking out so the doctor let me see the baby to make me feel better. I am 28 1/2 weeks now though and I don't have a clue how much the baby weighs or anything. I was just curious as to how often your doctors give you ultrasounds and stuff. When I go they just listen to the heartbeat and send me on my way.
Re: Just wondering....
My last ultrasound was my a/s at 18 weeks. I won't be having anymore unless there is some sort of issue. My appointments have been just like yours-- he checks her heartbeat and answers any questions I may have.
I had one in 1st trimester as a dating u/s at 8wks.
Then I had my A/S at 20 wks. They did tell me his approx weight at this one.
These are the only two my MW does unless there are complications/pregnancy is high risk.
I chose to have an elective u/s done at a little over 28 wks... for fun.
They told me an approx weight at this one too.
At my appts, she just picks his heartbeat up on the doppler too. If it's enough for her, it's enough for me. *Like I said, we did the elective one for fun/curiousity only*

Baby girl due 11/22/12!
When people seem to know weekly the size of baby, they're probably looking at the fruit/average baby size that corrosponds ...sp?... to the weeks/months pregnant.
I've had 5, have one next week and 2 more after that. Only because I am high risk and they check the thickness of my cervix each time. I love seeing LO but wish I didn't HAVE to have so many ultrasounds.
I had the dating u/s at 8 weeks and the a/s at 19 weeks. My NP told me at my first appt that they only give those two. All practices are different though. My SIL gets an u/s at every visit and she's not high risk.

~*~*Everyone Welcome*~*~
As far as my doctor's office, I've only had a dating u/s at 12 weeks and an a/s at 20 weeks. At 30 weeks I will have another u/s to make sure the baby is gaining weight - which I attribute to the fact that for the first 23 weeks I was still down 5 pounds from my pre-pregnancy weight, and even now I just got to my pre-pregnancy weight. So it seems 2 u/s are pretty standard.
I had one for the A/S and they wouldn't have done another, but baby had some kind of kidney stones, so they checked again a month later. They were gone, so that is good. But we won't have another u/s.
With my first I felt like we had u/s every appointment.
