I was scheduled for an amnio on Monday at 37w to check for lung maturity before induction on Tuesday due to cholestasis, but my little man had other plans. I went into labor this morning at around 7am and Eric William was born at 10:52. 5 lbs. 9 oz., 19.5" long. I almost didn't get any pain relief -- the anesthesiologist was getting ready to put in the epidural when I said I felt like I needed to push. I got an intrathecal injection instead and my butt was fully numb by the time the baby was out. Both of us are doing well.

Lungs are ok. He needed a little oxygen immediately after delivery, but he also had meconium in his water so that was probably the reason. He's being watched closely (got a full sepsis blood panel and will repeat later today) because he's technically pre-term (by 1 day) and I'm also GBS+ and didn't have time to get a whole dose of antibiotics before he was born. But so far, so good, and his pediatrician doesn't expect any problems.
