Flying tips

Ds has been on a few flights when he was younger...once at 3 months and then again at 5 months. I am flying with him alone in a couple weeks and need tips for a very active 8 month old! Our first flight is a night flight 1:30 am so I think he will sleep trough that one, and then we have a 4 hour layover ugh! and a 2 hour flight, so not too bad! Any specific toys I should bring?? I have apps on my iPhone but they are pretty loud, and he only likes certain parts of it so he screams if it's not playing the part he likes. I feel crazy for doing this alone lol hope everything goes smoothly!

Re: Flying tips

  • We just flew with our 8 month old. She actually slept the entire time we were in the air. It was distracting her while we were still on the ground that was the tricky part.
I brought the Kindle Fire with Sesame Street episodes for her to watch, toys to play with, and lots of snacks. While we were waiting at the gate, we walked around the terminal with her in the stroller to keep her from getting too bored just sitting around.
    Good luck!

  • I've flown alone with LO.  My biggest piece of advice is to only bring what you can handle on the plane.  I checked the carseat at check-in and brought the stroller all the way down the terminal, so I only carried him and a book bag onto the plane.  The book bag was a great idea because it's totally hands-free and can store tons of stuff.  If you bring too much, you'll get all discombobulated.  LO liked looking at the other passengers more than playing with his toys.

    Good luck!
