Do you have rails on the sides? If yes, what kind?
LO currently sleeps between DH and I in our bed. However, I worry that if we put him in a big boy bed (size full) that he'll roll off. He moves around a good amount in our bed. He still naps in his crib and we might need him to start sleeping in his own bed when the new baby comes...
Any input/advice is greatly appreciated
Thanks!
Re: If your LO is out of the crib/into a "big bed"...
We have the "mesh" rails.

We have these on DS's full bed. We've only had them for 2 months but so far so good.

BTW, I only paid $28 for them on amazon.
We transitioned my DS from sleeping in bed with us to sleeping in a full sized bed at 20 months. We cornered the bed against the wall and put up a rail. He has never fallen off the bed ever.
If you'd like to continue bedsharing when your baby comes, that's possible too. You put the baby between yourself/a rail (or the wall) while your oldest sleeps between you and DH.
I have a cosleeper for the baby. What I'm worried about is DS not going to sleep because of the baby or waking up throughout the night because of the baby... I think I'll buy an inexpensive set of rails just in case. I thought they were more than $40 but the prices aren't bad...
No rails. He's in a full-size. We did stuff large stuffed animals in the side against the wall because he got stuck. He only fell out once, and it is a low bed, so we did not have any problem. He does move around a lot, but he has not fallen again in months.
We switched DD to a twin bed the day after her 3rd birthday. One side is pushed up against the wall and instead of a bed rail, someone on here brilliantly suggested putting a pool noodle under the fitted sheet. She has never rolled out of bed (and trust me, she moves around a LOT while she is sleeping).

We transitioned our 2 year old from the crib to a toddler bed a little over a month ago. We don't have rails, we have long pillows on the floor, she has never fell out.
