For those of you who BF your MSPI babes, do you eat foods containing/cooked in soybean oil? I've read that soybean oil is usually ok as it contains hardly if any allergen, but I'm not sure if I should risk it...
Most people with a soy allergy can tolerate it. I wouldn't go out of your way to use it, but in the case of MSPI I think it would be alright. I would run it by your pedi, though.
Mom to E, 11/2011 - Severe egg & dairy allergies, soy intolerance *** Stepmom to G, 2001
Just from our experience (Our daughter has a VIOLENT intolerance to soy and has ended up in the hospital because of it)
Soy is a hit or miss with children. Many young children have intolerances to it and milk. Many Immunologists are accrediting it to T cell issues and NOT protein structure issues! I disagree but I am not a doctor so that can be a hard argument to make.
I would suggest limiting "soy" only because it isn't "SOY" anymore in this country. Most of the products that we get have soy in it and we modify soy to the point where it doesn't even resemble the original structure.
I think if you are looking to cook with something that is healthy you have too many alternatives that aren't literally number two on the list of intolerance causing food additives.
