March 2013 Moms

Does anyone have an inkling of what you are having yet?

I'm just wondering if anyone has an idea what they are having yet. I haven't had any dreams, but have been thinking boy. What is making you think that? I haven't had any m/s, just some food aversions making me want to gag.

Funny thing, yesterday I found a blog post with 51 old wives tales predicting gender, and I had 6 for boy and 7 for girl. just a little ambiguous, so far, anyway.

Re: Does anyone have an inkling of what you are having yet?

  • I'm convinced I'm having a boy.  I'll be *really* shocked if it's a girl.

  • A month or two before getting pregnant, I had a dream that we were bringing home our LO from the hospital and the baby and my DH were wearing matching blue winter hats.  So I dreamed it was a boy and that he would be born in the winter.  (I think early March is close enough!)

DH definitely thinks we are having a boy.

Honestly, I would love a boy!

  • I keep saying "he" when referring to the future with a baby.

DH's also convinced it's a boy because some of my symptoms are different, though I could argue outside contributors to every single one of my different symptoms. Increased acne? It's mid-summer and we live in high humidity. Etc.

I am kind of hoping we're both wrong, but I guess we'll see in about 10-12 weeks!

  • mine could go either way really... but DH is sure it is a boy... that and our nursery is somewhat already gender neutral (orange and blue) but would definitely be cuter for a boy...

Plus, Chinese Gender Chart says Boy.

I did the old wives tales for fun and they came back 50% girl, 50% boy.

  • I'm 10 weeks and this is my 1st pregnancy so I don't have much to weigh it against, but in my mind I think I'm having a girl. We are both hoping for a boy though! My mom said she thinks it's a boy after I told her my symptoms. Moms that I've spoken with told me that you are usually sicker with girls. They say that really bad m/s, vomiting, dizzy spells, etc are usually signs of girls. This is the 1st week I've felt close to normal since I found out at week 5. Before now I have had all day nausea. Not terrible, but definitely noticable. I've only vomited once though. My mom said if it was a girl I'd be hovered over the toilet or wastebasket all day and that my symptoms wouldn't have normalized this early in my pregnancy. I'm still really fatigued but no more sickness. Anyway, I don't know for sure. I hope mom is right! BOY, BOY, BOY!

The Chinese Gender chart predicted a girl for me. I used it for other births I knew of like mine, my brother's, my boyfriends, etc and it was wrong only once. So......idk.

  • I wouldn't call it an inkling, but I am kind of hoping boy.  We have a girl, and I really would like this to be our last.  DH feels as though he must have a boy, since he's the "last" which is stupid in my opinion.

I do feel different with this one, but, that doesn't really mean much.

I used to dream about the first one being a girl, and she was, but we will see.  We're going to do the needle test... DH thinks it's a no fail, and it was right about DD... but it's 50/50 =)

Don't put much stock in the "girls make you sicker" I never once threw up with my little girl.  I felt crappy some mornings sure, but never threw up. -- I just think everyone is different.

However, I will cross my fingers and hope boy for you, if you'll do the same for me =)

  • I think a boy, but DH thinks a girl. Everyone else in the family thinks a girl, but I think that may just be what they want. I had dreams WAAAY before I was pregnant that I had girls, but it was also twins and this LO is not...sooo who knows. Chinese gender predictor says boy, no morning sickness BUT a girl at my work just had a girl and she didn't have any morning sickness either. There is a lady at my work that likes to predict the gender prior to you going to find out what it is. So, we'll see what she says in about 7 - 8 weeks, and then we'll find out. :-)

  • I go back and forth.  My first reaction was that it was a girl.  I've been really sick and have thrown up at least once a day.  All my friends and family members that have had boys were not nearly as sick as me.  I also had a dream in which it was a girl.  However, my husband comes from an all boys family.  So, I am kind of expecting it to be a boy.  Both would be wonderful and am just praying for a healthy baby.  It is fun to guess though!

Ditto this.  When I was pg with TWO girls, I only puked once and that was because I swallowed my PNV wrong. :-)  I didn't even really feel queasy...just didn't feel like eating.  All in all I think I felt pretty good.

I'm guessing boy this time around because while I still feel pretty good, it just feels different from last time.

  • I think ours is going to be a boy.  I have prayed to him/her and have asked if it's a boy and I just feel like he is telling me he is.  Also, the gender chart says it's going to be a boy.  :)  We have already picked out a girl and boy name though and will be trilled either way.

  • I had a dream the other night that we were having a baby boy--it kinda freaked me out b/c the dream felt so real.  Other than the dream, I haven't had any type of "inkling."  We will be thrilled no matter what we get, however I have always thougth a little girl would be fun.  Guess we'll wait and see.

  • I have been wrong EVERY.SINGLE.TIME.  I thought #1 was a girl.  I thought #2 was a boy.  I thought #3 was a girl.  I thought #4 was a boy.  But I went b, g, b, g.  This time I'm just going with boy because that comes next in our pattern.  lol  But in all honesty, I wonder if it's not twins because I have never been sick while pg, and I was soooo down and out with m/s this time and the only "logical" conclusion we can come up with is "two placentas, twice the hormones".  If it's twins, I'd say boy/girl.

FWIW, my mother is a frat twin (so there is our genetic basis for twins) and I've heard that m/s is hereditary, but my mother had it with both my brother and I...and I had absolutely none whatsoever with any of my first 4 (just a teeeeeeny bit of nausea with #3 and #4).

  • This is my first so I don't have prior feelings to base off of.  I just feel like it's a boy.  But that could be because I had a dream years ago that I would have a boy.  So far no dreams about the sex while pregnant.  I checked the old wives tales and had 9 for a boy and 3 for a girl. So we'll see.

Both of our families are saying/wanting it to be a boy.  It's the first grandchild on my side of the family but it's the fourth on DH's side and they've all had girls. I also want a girl so it really doesn't matter to me.
