Clingy baby

I'm not sure if it's teething, tiredness, or just playing strange, but DD has been extremely clingy since my IL's were here on Sunday. My parents were here today, and she would not let anyone else but me hold her, and even when I held her, when my mom and dad were trying to play with her by making faces, or sounds, she would just start screaming! I really hope this is just a phase. MIL says it's my fault because I don't expose her enough to other people, but that just isn't true!!!!!

    Lucia started acting like this a couple of weeks ago. She also gets upset if I (or H) walk too far away from her. I'm attributing it to the beginning of separation anxiety, which I'm not excited to see starting! Hopefully its a short phase!

    My Pedi told me yesterday Ian may get clingy and start having "stranger" issues.  It's something about this age...they are becoming more aware of their surroundings and developing "feelings" for things they like and don't like.  I'm not saying she doesn't like your ILs but may be that she just likes Mommy more right now.  Ian doesn't stay with "strangers", my mom and sisters keep him for me, so it's not like he's with strangers during the day...but he loves strangers.  And it seems the more "strange" they are, the more he's amused by them.  I had a nephew who was like this too...would talk to, go with, anybody.  It can be a scary thing!

    I agree. I think our babies are entering the "stranger danger" month(s), if they haven't already.  My doctor made a comment about that this afternoon.  The time for this to start is now.  It's just another phase in their development. :)
