The good, the bad, and the ugly of today

I'll start with the good.  LO is perfectly happy inside.  I say this because I REALLY want her to go to her due date - preferably her French due date ;)  I'm measuring right on track, her heart rate is good, and she's not dropped much - if at all.  My OB thought she felt me having a contraction while in the office after I told her I'd not had any.  It turns out I just have a hard stomach :)  She said she's predicting a 7ish pound baby based on my growth, how big she feels, etc.  Who knows how accurate she is, but 7lbs sounds doable without epi/pain meds!  Besides my mother annoyingly trying to tell me what to do because she did things that way 21 years ago (i.e sign up for WIC - which we make to much to qualify for; get the shot to dry up your milk while in the hospital if you don't breastfeed)... all is well on the baby front.

Now the bad.  My university has screwed up my account.  Someone in the grad college wasn't paying attention and didn't process my out of state tuition waver.  They processed only the portion that covered my tuition if I were IN state.  This caused my tuition to be paid for by my living stipend.  My living stipend is essentially my paycheck for 6 months.  I am getting 1/4 of what I'm owed.  The person who can potentially fix it is on vacation and my department isn't sure HOW it can be fixed because the waiver isn't applied to my account as actual money.  I can only be reimbursed if actual money is applied to my account.  They've also screwed up my book and travel reimbursement this year.  It took 3 months to get reimbursed for books and I'm at the 6 week mark and still have not been reimbursed for travel.  If I could get some patience dust, that would be great :)

And the ugly :(  My stepdad attended a funeral in his old home state a few weeks ago and we are along his drive.  He stopped through and spent a few days with us.  His last night here, he got a major headache, had pressure behind his eye, and was dizzy and nauseous.  He thought his blood pressure had spiked and could sleep it off.  The next morning, he left for a 2 day drive back home.  Thank God he made it back!  He maintained a headache for a few days and went in for what he thought would be a migraine shot.  It turns out, he had had a bleed in his brain.  There's a 'puddle' of blood slightly smaller than a golf ball on his brain right now, though the bleeding has stopped.  They're hoping his brain absorbs the blood over the next week or so.  Otherwise, he has to have surgery to drain it.  Until the blood is gone, he'll have a massive headache.  He also has to stay in the hospital until his BP is down and steady.  I feel awful I can't be there with him.  I hate being so far from family :(  Thoughts and prayers that he makes a full recovery without surgery!

Thanks for listening, ladies :)
