In an awesome world, the first thing people would say to me would be "He looks just like YOU" - the one who did all the work & went through the ringer for 40wks. (give or take) I have to say, it's SO annoying to go through delivery only to hear "Awe, he looks just like his daddy" LIE TO ME PEOPLE! LIE!!!

    God, no kidding.

I love my daughter and I think she's beautiful, but I've spent 5 years hearing "oh, she looks JUST like her Daddy!" It's less annoying now, but immediately post-partum I wanted someone, ANYONE, to tell me that she looked at least a little bit like me, FFS.

Oh I'm so with both of you on this one!! I get sick of hearing how much DS is looking more and more like his Daddy all the time. Or that he looks just like my mom! Come on neither one of them carried or delivered the 8lb 15oz bundle of joy! At least he has my eyes and hair and no one can deny that!

Right there with you girls on this one.  I have 3 blonde haired blue eyed kids and I'm the one with brownish black hair and hazel eyes.  I'm like, for real??  My kids "look" like me, but the first thing people see and comment on is hair and eyes, and suddenly its like "oh they are so their daddy, there is none of you in them."  I'm like, ok, I guess I'm just the knocked up baby sitter.  People when we are out are like "are they all yours honey?"  I'm like" you guys, just LIE to me!  I carried them all 40 weeks, just LIE for crying out loud!"

Just a quick short story.  This weekend we went to a birthday party for H's uncle and we were getting the usual tacky comments about how many kids we already have with one on the way.  We were getting lots of comments too about how beautiful the kids were, and MIL chimes in with "well you guys just keep having them, are you trying for an ugly one or something?"

Ask me if almost knocked her the pool with a throat chop because I'm pretty sure I was close to it.  I gave her the side eye and held my tongue out of respect for being in someone else's home.

    me = you

Also, I get SO sick of the comments about a 4th kid. "Another one" "this is your last? I've heard that before" "don't you know where those come from yet?" STFU already.

TRUTH!  I'm 26, do I look like like I cant figure out whats going on?  Nevermind the fact that I planned my family, I guess.  Trust me, I KNOW what happened and WHEN.  Everyone was hell bent on making sure I knew they "felt sorry" for me for one thing or another.  During that whole party it was "wow I'm glad I'm not in your shoes", "eew you are CD'ing?  that's a gross hassle" ,  "you know they look just like H right?"  ...then there was MIL's endless comments.  His 22 year old cousin said "wow, its apparent you like your husbands manhood".  I felt like someone shocked me and I thought to myself "did I hear that?" lol  I'm not gonna get into the rest of the comments but Lord they just keep coming.  I'm anxious to see how this baby acts because my babies each have different personality.  My oldest boy is calm and mature, my second boy is wild and eccentric, and baby girl is babyfied and prissy.  Oh what could this baby boy bring?  Smile

  • I can't wait to see how DS is with her. He is generally very reverent of babies anyway and we talk about the baby all the time. He tries to play with her even now, pouring imaginary tea onto my belly and feeding her wooden watermelon.

I can't wait to see my waist line.  And my cooter.  I miss them both.

I have no desire to see mine ever again, unless it goes back to normal.  I thought elephantitis of the cooter was one symptom I was graciously skipping (I wash the thing every day, you would think I would know!)............... BUT, I had to get on a stool in front of a mirror to trim up this weekend and OMG.  omg omg.

Back on topic..... I can't wait to see whose nose DD will have.  I hope mine.  For a boy, I would hope DH's.

Terri, this just about made me tear up! How precious is that!

I think I'm most looking forward to seeing DH with his daughter for the first time. I am almost guaranteed to bawl my eyes out. He talks to her through my belly every day, and won't go to bed until I've come over and let him kiss both me AND my belly. It's adorable!

I also cannot wait to see LO's godfather hold her for the first time. He's the same age I am, my best friend since high school, and I have never seen a 21 year old guy so excited about a baby that wasn't his. Same deal with my sister, who is 19, and almost more excited about this baby than her future grandparents!

Also very curious to see how much hair she has, who she most looks like, and what her little personality is like. We have bets in the family as to who she looks like and who she acts like. Currently, it's looks like me and acts like DH, so we'll see.

  • I'm definitely on the boat of how DD will react to the baby.

What she will look like. Whether or not she will look like her sister.

What kind of personality she will have. DD was such an easygoing baby, it worries me that the baby is going to be the polar opposite.

  • I just can't wait to see her so I finally believe that this squirmy little alien inside me is really a baby.

I'm dying to know what she's going to look like.

I can't wait to see DH with her. He's already become a total emotional sap as we realize that this is actually happening--and SOON. I think he's going to be so overwhelmed and I know he's going to be amazing with her. I'm pretty sure it will be a while before he remembers that I still exist. ;)

    I have a few...

    - I can't wait to see if LO is a boy or girl.

    - If LO will look like DD did when born.

    - DD's reaction to her new baby brother or sister.

All of this for me too! :)  And to see DH holding him/her.
