Before I was pregnant I judged on weight / the way people dressed.
Now that I am pregnant, I don't judge at all - you don't know what that person is going through. Just because you have an easy pregnancy doesn't mean that person is having an easy pregnanct. Being pregnant has opened my eyes to a lot of things.
I can't really think of much that I judge pregnant women for; maybe just those that act like nothing out of the ordinary happens while pregnant? You know, those who have "perfect" pregnancies and claim nothing out of the normal happens?
I don't know that this is judging, per se, but I look at pregnant women who appear to be farther along than I am and I feel jealous that they are so close to the end and so close to meeting their LO!
Definitely the clothes thing... I used to judge, but I don't anymore. I know how shitty I feel/felt and I don't blame anyone for wanting to wear pj's around. There is a line. I still side-eye pregnant women who have their 'normal' shirts on with half their belly hanging out the bottom, etc. But most of the time, I understand.
Also, just this morning, I was judging my friend. Her DD is a year old now, but I was thinking about how badly I wanted caffiene this morning, and how I have given up something that is completely acceptable in small amounts for pregnant women, and she couldn't even give up smoking for her daughter when she was pregnant. It made me mad. I know that caffiene and nicotene are not the same, and they are not equally as addictive. But I just don't understand how she couldn't give up smoking the whole time she was pregnant, even when she got put on bed-rest and everything.
?Married 11-1-08 ~ dxPCOS 9-1-11 ~ BFP 2-14-12 ~ T.J. born 11-1-12?
I also judge pregnant women who smoke. My one friend growing up had an aunt who smoked like a chimney her whole pregnancy and the kid was born without at least 3 fingers. Doctors couldn't say if they would ever grow in. I'm not sure how anyone can be that selfish to impose that kind of lifelong damage to their child.
I also judge pregnant women who don't wear clothes that fit them properly. This means those that refuse to buy maternity clothes because they aren't "stylish" enough and insist on wearing their normal wardrobe when things just don't fit. I understand maternity clothes can be expensive, but you can definitely find things secondhand and you don't need that much. Just do wash more often. If you searched hard enough, you could probably get by with spending less than $50. I might be flamed for this, but really...if you can't even buy clothes that fit, how are you going to take care of a baby?
I judge the sh!t out of people who drink and smoke during pregnancy. I also judge people (though not as harshly) who consume things that their physicians specifically told them not to, like raw lunch meat and raw fish, because while, yes lysteria isn't as common in the US as it is in other countries because of our food regulations, you can still get it, and you are more likely to when you are pregnant, and it's REALLY bad for the baby. Further, the whole everything in moderation thing is BS since it only takes one bite to get sick. Oh and also, the argument about how people in Japan or other countries do it also is BS since the recommendations are different because their medical research is not as advanced as ours here in the US.
It all boils down to the fact that I, for the life of me, cannot understand why someone couldn't give something up for 9 months for the health of their unborn child.
I judge people for smoking while pregnant, trying to diet/ bragging about how little weight they've gained, and conversely people who eat like crap then b**ch about gaining weight.
Ahh yes, I'm officially the fat cow poster....meh...get over it. I have to deal with everyone telling me that my baby is underdeveloped because I'm too small, it's just the other side of the coin.
I judge pregnant women who constantly complain about their weight gain but continue to eat like sh!t. Put down the McDonalds, Wendys, Burger King and eat REAL FOOD. Sure we all like to have an indulgence... But if that is what you choose, be happy with it and dont turn around and complain that you have gained 30 pounds this pregnancy.
I am not gonna lie... I seriously get upset when I see pregnant women smoking. I have never smoked so I do not know the urge or how hard it is to quit. Man do I feel bad that either they can't stop or just don't care to stop!

You being small is not equal to others being fat cows. But nice try!!!

I judge woman who are just as far along as me or less so and have an adorable little bump!
SOOO not fair...seeing as how no one who doesnt know me even believes Im pregnant!!

I just threw a number in there. I am not saying 30 pounds is unhealthy. Basically if you are not happy with your weight and continue to complain about it... Make some changes.
Oh and also, the argument about how people in Japan or other countries do it also is BS since the recommendations are different because their medical research is not as advanced as ours here in the US.
Really? Pregnant Japanese women don't get sick from sushi because their medical research isn't advanced as in the US?

Isn't a 25-35 pound weight gain considered normal and healthy during pregnancy?
I judge people who are super uptight about everything pregnancy related. I wonder how they will adjust when the baby comes and you can control so much less. I also judge people who take every casual idiotic comment regarding pregnancy as a giant insult and can't get over it. Newsflash: people say stupid things. No matter what. Thicken your skin and get over yourself. (obviously sometimes being irritated is justified but not in many cases I see posted here)

Yep.
I try to not judge pregnant women. I know how hard it is on our bodies and minds.
I can honestly say I've never seen an obviously pregnant woman drinking (beyond one) or smoking. If I did, I would judge the hell out of it.

As I said above... I am NOT judging anyones weight gain... What I am judging is someone b!tching about their weight gain AND eating like sh!t. If you are not happy with your weight do something about it... pregnant or not.
Last month when we went on vacation I was totally judging a pregnant woman who was on our flight home. When they called for people with disabilities and special needs to board first she got up with her husband and got in the front of the line. I understand some people might have a serious issue or condition but this lady did not look like she had anything that serious going on. The flight was only an hour and was open seating!

Oh, I got what you were saying and totally agree. I just thought 30 was kind of an odd number to pull out of the hat, since it's considered normal and healthy and probably wouldn't be the result of eating McDonalds every day! My nurse at my OB office told me (when we discovered I had gained 25 pounds so far and I freaked out a little) that she gained 50 with her first because she gave in to her McDonalds craving at least 3 times a week.

I get what you're saying. I just thought 30 was a weird number to pick because it's pretty normal. No skin off my back though because I am pretty psyched to keep mine around 30.
I also don't *** about it after I eat my once a month wendy's spicy chicken sandwich. ;-)
Oh and also, the argument about how people in Japan or other countries do it also is BS since the recommendations are different because their medical research is not as advanced as ours here in the US.

Well aren't you just a peach?
Could you please tell me where in my post its says the women don't get sick?
Because, I'm fairly certain that says "the recommendations are different," not that they don't get sick, but the recommendations in other countries are different.

And I judge people harshly who *** about the presents they get. It's a gift, if you don't like it, return it or give it away and quit complaining. You sound like an ungrateful, entitled twat!

Yes, yes, and one more yes. It's called store credit. Use it. :-)
Ahh yes, I'm officially the fat cow poster....meh...get over it. I have to deal with everyone telling me that my baby is underdeveloped because I'm too small, it's just the other side of the coin.
I understand where you're coming from.... I get the same thing. Often the first thing people ask me is if I'm taking care of myself because I've only gained 9 pounds so far. It's insulting and hurtful that they just assume I'm not eating or taking care of myself.
(I probably would have phrased it a little different.... but I do get where you are coming from!)
My friend who's pregnant informed me the other day that she has made a conscious decision not to read any pregnancy-related literature during her pregnancy. The way she phrased it, it sounded like she meant no books, no articles, no web research...nothing. I totally side-eyed her for it.

Gift complainers are the worst. Someone gave me 2 onesies that I don't like from Wal-Mart, where I did not register. Guess what? I'm going there after work today to return them and use that store credit for something I will like and use... even if it's just diapers or hooded towels. This is not the end of the world.
And I totally roll my eyes at women who are over the top cautious about all things in pregnancy. I'm mostly talking about my SIL, who is 6 weeks behind me and worries about every. little. thing.

these are all priveldges (sic I know) that actually require a lot of money, time and resources. Sometimes all the planning in the world can't prepare you for curveballs that come your way while pregnant.
Which is not to say I don't think they're great. It's just not that simple.
Also, those who think they can plan life in general (like, big picture). They're in for a big surprise.

where is this fat cow post?
I don't even think it counts as judging to side a pregnant woman who smokes...it's so horrible and not ok.
The vent about everyone saying how small she is a few posts down. She is angry because she is not a fat cow like other third tri women. Nice.
