Griffs watching DH play COD and Bs napping so I think I have time to share my birth story!
10:30pm sunday night I was in bed watching Friends, about to fall asleep when I felt and heard a pop in my belly. I was kinda like whatever lol. Then a few minutes later I started trickling something down there. I went to the bathroom and it was obvious what it was when I wiped (water breaking). I called the nurses line just to see what they'd say and sure enough they told me to go to the hospital.
At the hospital I wasn't dilated at all but the machine was picking up my contractions, even though I wasn't feeling any of them. They sent me home (again, I'm not sure why) and told me to come back at 6am. On the drive home I started to feel the contractions =S
We went back to the hospital at 5:30am cause I couldn't take the pain and I was at 4-5cm dilated. They were going by my original due date of Aug 30 which mae me 36 weeks and some odd days so because I was early they admitted me to the high risk area. I got my epidural soon after that.
A few hours later when they checked me I was still only 4-5cm. There was talk about probably needed a c-section (which freaked me the eff out) cause I wasn't progressing and every time I had a contraction, Bs HR would drop. Oh and cause B was sunny side up. They waited it out and a few hours later I was a 7cm. After maybe an hour they checked again and still only at 7cm so they decided to give me pitocin. After more waiting I was fully dilated ![]()
I only pushed for a half hour. B was a bit stuck behind my pelvis so they used the vacuum and out he came at 11:55am on Monday, August 6. I could've done it without the vacuum but it would've taken another hour, according to the nurse.
I'm healing so much faster than last time, yet I still have a 2nd degree tear like before. Those afterpains have thankfully stopped and the bleeding is barely there.
B was 6lbs 5oz, 19 1/4 in.

Griff is such a good big brother ![]()

Re: AW Birth Story PsIP
I love hearing these birth stories! What was different about this one than your last one? Did your water not break last time? I'm curious how different each birth can be (I'm nervous, actually!)
He's adorable
I'm so glad you didn't end up with a csection! Griff is cute as always and I love the new squishy pictures! Makes me more eager for time to pass awaiting my own squishy...
What pretty babies you have!
Awww, the pictures of the two of them together absolutely melt my heart!!! So incredibly sweet!
Glad to hear the recovery is going well. Congrats!
Labor this time lasted half as long as last time, thank goodness! Even pushing was easier, half an hour this time while last time was one and a half hours. And my water broke both times. more of a trickle than a gush.
I'll keep my fingers crossed than your labor this time around will be quick too!
B was sunny side up the whole time, I believe. And I think he looks nothing like Griff, while MIL thinks they look exactly alike lol.
