2 month shots

LO gets her 2 month shots today. Dreading it : (

How did your LOs react afterward? Fever, sleeping a lot, not sleeping at all?

DD just had hers yesterday. I noticed about 4-6 hrs afterwards she was more fussy, uncomfortable, and overall not happy.

So, I put her in a warm bath, and gave her some Tylenol. For bedtime I put her in a pants sleeper, to make sure her muscles stayed nice and warm, and relaxed. All of that seemed to help she slept her normal routine.

She does seem more sleepy this morning, but the Dr. said that might happen.

I hated seeing her hurt and cry when they gave them to her, so just be prepared, its ok to cry ( I did! ), DH brought me out for ice cream after, because he said I did good for her shots!

DS2 was a bit fussy, yet tired. Ditto the warm bath and Tylenol.

DD screamed when it happened and fell asleep 2 minutes later. That night she was very sleepy and a tiny bit crankier. The next day she was back to normal. I thought it would be a lot worse than it actually was.

Good Luck! LO gets his shots today too! I've been dreading it, I know I'm going to cry...I'll have to try all the tips everybody recommends..couldn't do any harm.... the worst part of him getting his shots today is I got my galbladder removed Tuesday so I can't pick him up... Crying

and DH has a fishing tornament tomorrow morning at the crack of dawn so he'll be away for the night..luckily I'll be with my parents since I am practically useless due to my stitches...

K slept all day afterwards. I gave him tylenol right when we got home and then every 4-6 hours through the next day. He was a little cranky and didn't eat very well for a few days, but it was all expected. He was back to normal a few days later.

Just got back! It wasn't so bad. We had to wake her up from a nap, so she was super pissed. Then when she got the shots she just cried a bit and went back to sleep after she got the rotovirus "drink".

Now she's smily and happy : )

I suggest nursing or bring a bottle for during or right after, helped calm her right down.

Good luck. LO had a 101 fever a few hours after the shots. He was miserable for about 24 hours with the fever and only slept when I gave him tylenol. I am not looking forward to the 4month shots.

He cried for about 30 seconds then stopped. Never developed a fever....I think it was harder on me than him lol

Same for us. Only give tylenol if your LO has a fever over 100.4, tylenol has actually been shown to decrease the body's immune response after shots so you shouldn't just give it for fussiness.

Mine got hers today. She's spent the rest of the day alternating between sleeping and then waking up, screaming in pain. But if we hold her, she seems to calm down pretty well. Not looking forward to the rest of the night, though if she's refusing to be put down.

DS was a little sleepy after, but that could've been coincidence. He didn't get a fever or anything.

A little fussier than normal but not too bad. At least that's what I'm told since she went to daycare after getting her shots.

I cried while he was getting them. Then I nursed him right after (in the room) to calm him down. He then alternated between sleeping and screaming. I felt awful for him. He had a low grade temp for 2 days that I gave him Tylenol for. Unfortunately it's been 4 days and he's still not back to normal. Very fussy, not napping, and wanting to eat but then not eating very much. I'm just waiting for my happy baby to return.

We went yesterday, and LO screamed and cried worse then I've ever heard her scream... but luckily as soon as we got to the car, she fell asleep. The rest of the day she was very fussy, but still smiling for us, and she slept basically the rest of the day on and off. She didnt eat much, but compensated for it when she woke up in the middle of the night. We'll see how she does today...
