For what its worth, I job isn't going to hurt your baby.
I work a very stressful job (at times) and can be physically demanding (at times) and my baby is just fine.
I think you're just trying to find excuses for not getting off your asss.
Venting on a public board never goes well. In my head this sounded less like MUD. Emotions got the better of me on that one.

Unfortunately, I do. My cousin is two months older than me (making her 21) and I honestly thought this was her for a minute. Except her dream is live on Jersey Shore, not LA. Oh, and she's publicly stated that she will only sleep with guys who have girlfriends. Her current baby daddy, she tricked into get her 'preggles' is married and already has three babies.
I do, however, believe this is MUD. Just saying that the gene pool does actually get that shallow.

To the OP - a job will not hurt your baby. Are you old enough to work? You sound very immature (maybe 14?) by what and how you have written your post. If you do not work how will you support you and your child? I see that you live with your parents...that is not ideal (unless you really ARE 14). It kind of sounds like you expect things to just be given to you in life, but unfortunately life is not like that. Get a job, learn to type correct English, and stop feeling entitled.
BTW...under no circumstances should you host a shower for yourself - if you can afford to do that you can afford to buy what you need for your baby.
I also call MUD (obvs- nobody, please dear God, could actually be this stupid) but on the off chance it isn't (and because I'm bored at the moment) I have this to say:
Oh, OP. Oh, my. Yes, you may be a pretty, speshul shnoflaqe, but that and a buck fifty will get you some terrible coffee at the newsstand. And possibly a pack of gum. Take the advice of someone who is nearly on the "wrong side" of thirty and has been around the block more than once- if you don't plan on breastfeeding, you will pay hundreds of dollars for the first year of your baby's life just on formula. Not to mention that unless your child's waste will be whisked away by magical unicorns that poop rainbows, there's that pesky diaper bill- along with medical bills, clothing and incidentals. Newborns don't need much, but toddlers do and their needs only increase.
Personally, the only thing I'm jealous of when it comes to you is your willful ignorance. It shows a certain level of stick-to-itiveness that I admire. Though, as a college professor turned stay at home mom, you make me weep for humanity based on your spelling skills alone--- because the way you beat the English language over the head with a brick is nothing short of epic.
For the record- I can play with my son AND teach him how to spell correctly and how to speak. I'm not exactly afflicted with arthritis here.
Best of luck to you and your son. Wanting to be a good mom is all well and great, but actually BEING a good mom takes a lot more effort, and it requires stability, education and the ability to go out and get what you need for your child. Someone who accuses Internet strangers of being "h8rs" may be a few tacos short of a combo platter, but hey, as long as you're pretty, right?

I see a lot of young and beautiful mothers in my office. I work in social services and see mom's all the time that thought this would never happen to them. Most of the time beauty didn't help a bit, but intelligence did. I really hope you can get your life straight because I don't want to see another teen mother in my office begging for help about her drug addiction, abusive boyfriend, and how no one in the world gives a flying F***.
Please grow up now or you will find yourself in even more problems in the future.

Hey now at 14 I knew how to spell correctly. Then again that was a different time, when girls didn't have movies or shows teaching them how to trick guys into getting them pregnant ( FYI I have a hard time making myself type out preg... preggies)
