Well, at the same time, you came and made this post as if you're a nutrition expert and it was seemingly out of left field.  So there's that.

I like you but this is stupid

It's a side of me that I haven't shared. I'm not an expert, but I've spent that last 10 years or so studying this subject.

10 years? So where's your PhD in nutrition from?

It's actually true a woman shouldn't eat below 1200 calories. Around that point it throws your body into starvation mode.

    https://straighthealth.com/pages/articles/darticles/starvation-mode.html

Your body burns calories just from functioning. Unless you are lying in bed all day everyday, there's no need to drop below 1200 calories.

Here is the post with the statement I reacted to.

Once again, KC swooshes into a thread with her big brain of I Know It All.

KC really needs to stop talking about things she knows nothing about.

Did KC delete a post or something? Tuna came in here like Richard Simmons sweating to the oldies and we all made generalized comments. I don't see anyone claiming to be an expert besides Tuna.

It was about the WW thing.

You do realize in your original post you said "I don't think a woman should eat below 1200 calories", right? You do realize I said THE SAME THING that you did, right?

Are you seeing the irony here yet?

I never said I had a PhD. I said I've spent the last 10 years or so studying this subject. Some people read memoirs. Some people read fiction. I read about nutrition.

Oh, so since I took a few college courses in nutrition, my opinion isn't valid. You read some books, so now you're an expert. Got it.

  • I would like to apologize that this thread turned weird.

I am stepping away from the computer to unwad my panties.

I'll be back to start a light hearted thread. Maybe.

Some rare exceptions don't make that general statement any less true. I'd argue a bodybuilder who's starving their body so they can look better for a competition isn't doing it for the right reasons. Someone cutting calories after major abdominal surgery probably does have a good reason to.

And actually, I took nutrition courses in college.

The college that cost $1800 a semester?  Because that sure lends credibility.

With the working out, most of the stuff I am doing is high intensity and weight training. I am not seeing a weight loss and right now my goal is weight loss.

Maybe the reason you are not seeing weight loss is because you are eating too little and your body is starving?

Also, are you measuring yourself? You may be replacing fat with muscle, which takes up less space but would not change the number on the scale.

Actually the opposite would happen. A pound of muscle is 1/3 the size of a pound of fat. If her body is converting her lean body mass to fat, she would be gaining size even while losing weight.

Yo gm, read what you just wrote.
