Re: disappointed in board

before thebump existed, those of us ttc chatted through theknot. i was a regular member of the ttc board and had my son in 2005.

i am currently ttc baby#2 and came here for support and empathy, since i assume we are all here for similar reasons. what i have found has been rude, 'mean girl' behavior that is not only immature but downright mean.

people come here because they are excited and many seeking the unknown. they ask questions because they know you have been or are in their shoes. if someone asks a question that you could easily answer, either ignore it or answer it. no need for snarky remarks and re-directs to the newbie board.

many of you who are quick with a rude cut-down when somebody asks about symptoms would likely be lying if you said you never obsessed over symptoms while ttc, esp during 2ww.

if you are here, i assume you are ttc and therefore will bring children into this world. i hope you teach them better manners than you display to others.

you are complaining about people being rude, and then you end on a rude note... if people weren't lazy and looked at least at the newbie link, some people wouldn't be so "rude" to point it out.

  • OMG!  I know I'm late to this board but it came after I left work and this is the first time I was able to sit down on the computer!

AWESOME!!!  I have never laughed so much in my life!  I know I'm very much still a newbie but even after being on here for a few days I saw so many posts with a LOT of genuine help and advice and they even helped me out just by reading.  Someone made a post a bit ago stating the top 10 things she learned from lurking and it summed everything up!

I had to explain to DH why I was cracking up over here and my life the past couple of weeks reading TTGP and about the "am I pregnant" questions and then "I think I ovulated 2 weeks ago and I'm late" questions and the typical responses to these questions.  He laughed and said if you ask a dumb question you are going to get a dumb answer.

Thank you to all of the "snarky" ladies...you have totally made my day!  Especially in the couple of posts that were deleted (11 days late and the 17 year old's post).  Today was AWESOME with these posts!  This just was the icing on the cake!

  • Finally made it through this thread and I'm really happy I did. Needed a good laugh. Thanks ladies! :)

PS- I'm a newbie and absolutely love the snarky-ness.

If there was a "like" button, I was "like" your post a hundred times over. Despite what you have experienced so far, there are people here who can offer sensitivity and will give you the support you are reqesting and certainly deserve.  So I hope you'll stick around.  Snarks aka Bullies are everywhere and probably are found in higher numbers on community forums...it sucks but you just gotta ignore them and don't give them the attention they are so despereately seeking.

Who are you & why are you so butthurt? If you are going to endorse whiny douchebiitches then why don't you stick to FB & not worry your pretty little head about what goes on here?

I think you need more material. We get it, you like to say butthurt. While I am at it, I feel like you have a compiled list of all the common phrases and answers used on this board and throw them into every single one of your posts. Not very original and makes it look like you are trying way to hard. Now that I got that off my chest I am going to go eat dinner with my hubby and/or hubs and/or hubster.

This is rich coming from the queen of trite & overdone. A lot of the material I have to work with in responding (I'm late posts & I need opinions posts) is repetitive in its nature. So I don't have to try hard, it's wash rinse repeat here which you should know.

I'm glad you've purged yourself of such an important emotion. Thank you so much for your very meaningful commentary. I'll be sure to give a boat load of fuucks what an AE has to say about me. Hope you enjoyed your dinner with your hubby/hubster/husband-nickname.

OP and TeenMom are not the only annoying posters in this thread. Just sayin'!

TTGP: It's repetitive and redundant OR same sh!t different day. I am easily bored with the shenanigans and crazy PWing in this place!

Word. Some people need to calm down.

If the topics are so repetitive then sit on your hands next time so you don't repeat, repeat, repeat. Your welcome for my meaningful commentary though. Oh and this is not an AE but give me a minute and I will pull out my AE's and say the same thing.

  • 1) This thread was tl;dr.  But I did read the OP. ETA: Okay, sounds like maybe it was entertaining.  I may go back and read.

    2) OP, you need to learn how to use the shift key.  It will help you produce capital letters.  Following such conventions of the English language will make it easier to communicate on a website wherein all communication is limited to written words.

    3)  Yes, we are snarky.  I have my reasons, and so do the others.  If you don't like it, try babygaga.  I hear they have all the puppies and rainbows.

    4)  If you were on TK in 2005, why do you only have 8 posts?

  • When I first arrived to this board (7 months ago), I was surprised by the quick corrections to new posters. "Check out 2ww/the newbie page/etc..." After awhile I understood that these comments were necessary to keep the board organized and save everyone from a million posts about pregnancy symptoms. However, over the last few months, the vibe has changed. Many of you embrace the word "snarky" but I would describe it as a clique.

I think the difference is that when I first joined someone would correct the newbie and that was the end of it. Now, if someone makes a "mistake" and a "correction" is given, everyone gangs up on the outsider. This comradery seems to entertain many of posters. It's just not my thing.

Then don't. I'll never understand why people feel the need to post that they don't want to "join".

I edited my post to be more clear.

I do want to join a group of women TTC which is why I keep coming back to this board.

    Babycenter.com

    Babyzone.com

    Mothering.com

    FertilityFriend.com (they have forums too)

    Babygaga.com
