Apologies if this has already been posted somewhere, but I'm always curious - where did you go to college, what was your major, and do you ever use your degree(s) in some way now?
For me, I went to Boston University undergrad, then University College London for my master's - both are in archaeology, which I did actually use here and there, but I fell into IT long, long ago and didn't really look back. I later went back and got my library degree, which I do use on occasion in my current techie job (though I do miss being an archivist - it was fun, just poorly paid).
How about the rest of you? Any other bizarre studies? I always toy with the idea of going back to get a PhD in folklore, just for fun...
Re: GTKY: Where did you go to college?
2 Majors: Accounting & Latin American Studies
I use my accounting degree the other was my just for fun degree that kept me sane while in school.
I'm considering getting my teacher certification. I can see myself doing this work for a while longer but I don't plan to retire as an accountant. As soon as I figure what I want to be when I grow up I'll head that way.

I went to Southern Illinois University Carbondale.
I majored in biology for four years until I decided to change my major to education. I graduated with a degree in Elementary Education, taught for three years, became a SAHM, and now teach children with severe autism while I compete my Master's in Multicategotical Special Education...that is, if this LO cooperates.

I went to Winona State too!
I did a semester at Mizzou, and a year and a half at Winona. Then I realized I didn't like my major, and I'm waiting to figure out what I want to do before I go back to finish my last two years (probably at the University of Wisconsin-Madison or Milwaukee).
Right now I am a travel agent.
I went to U of M, too!
Also studied English and Education (but Secondary Ed, for me)! I still miss Ann Arbor.
I went to Rowan too. Funny. I was music education, so up until babies I used it.

Cool! I love Lawrence. (I'm in Kansas City.) I went to KState, but I do a lot of sorority alumni stuff at KU.

Kansas State University--I double-majored in English and philosophy. I am now a technical writer, so I use my English degree daily. I use my philosophy degree daily, too, which you might find surprising, but learning to think is useful everywhere, all the time.
I am currently getting my master's degree in Library and Information Science from San Jose State University. I would love to get a job in a prison library (seriously), but I have a feeling I'll end up working in a public library.
My h went to KU! and actually did a ton of work with habitat while there

JMU grad here, too!
I studied art history with the plans of going to grad school but ran out of money and the desire to stay in school, so I got into graphic design after taking just one class my senior year. I try to think of it as not a total waste

I went to the Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC & have my BFA in Interior design... I worked in retail design & architecture for a few years before I decided to leave and go on my own. DH and I now own a Design & build firm and we have a Kitchen and Bath showroom. I definitely couldn't have done it without my degree!
I went to Southwestern University, a small, private liberal arts school of about 1300 students located in Georgetown, Texas (about 20 minutes north of Austin). I majored in Communication Studies, with minors in Theater and Dance. I worked as a legal assistant at a large law firm in downtown Houston until I became a SAHM. Now I teach drama to little kiddos a couple of nights a week, so I am actually using my degree more now than I did when I worked full time! My original major was Theater, but I ended up dropping it to a minor for personal reasons.
Oh, and while I will always be an SU Pirate (ARGH!)...my sports hopes and woes live and die by the Fightin' Texas Aggies of Texas A&M University (DH's alma mater).

"Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?...But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." Matthew 6:26-27&33-34
Jersey girl here...so I know it for sure! I used to go to Main Street all the time because my DH's (fiance back then) roommate owned the place.
I graduated from Ride University, a local Central Jersey school which I'm sure mostly no one has heard of, haha. I studied Accounting, and use it somewhat in my current job.
2012 Reading Challenge
Happy to see so many smart, beautiful mommies here!
I went to a public Uni in Upstate NY for my undergrad - double majored in History and Psychology - and then UNT for my masters in Information Sciences. Right now I'm working as a Librarian (probably the loudest, craziest, and most tattooed Librarian you'll ever meet, but a Librarian nonetheless *laughs*). I teach research classes at a local community college. I'm planning to go back within the next five years and get my Masters in History though and then PhD as my achievable dream job is to be a History Professor.
Home in the bush.
So cool to see a few from Michigan or that went to Michigan!
I got my BS in BA from Central Michigan University. My major was Human Resources Management. I'm an HR Supervisor at a community college, so yes, I definitely still use my degree.
