DD is 8.5 weeks old and EBF. She's a great sleeper, usually anywhere from a 5 to 8 hour stretch at night, followed by another 2 or 3 hours, then two longer naps during the day (anywhere from 1.5 hrs to 3hrs). She currently eats about every hour and a half during the day, and takes usually 20 min to half an hour, sometimes longer. My concern is that i start back to work part time this week and I know I can't pump that often and I'm worried inwon't be able to keep up with her.
I know it's not abnormal for her to eat this frequently...but is It possible she's not getting a complete "meal"? How do I figure it out? Also, I haven't been away from her for more than a few hours, but when DH or my parents have stayed with her during those times, she doesn't seem to eat as frequently...is it possible she only goes every hour and a half when I'm around because she just wants the comfort/closeness/ etc? Finally, I know all babies are different, and I love nursing DD, but is there a general time frame when they start to space out their feedings or nurse for shorter amounts of time? TIA!

Re: Every 1.5 hrs?
My LO ate every hour to hour and a half until we hit the 3 month mark. After the 3 month growth spurt ended he now eats every 2.5-3.5 hours. Sometimes during growth spurts it would be every 45 minutes! The only way to tell for sure exactly how much she is taking in during each meal is to do weighed feedings. I feel like she will be fine when you go back to work. She will probably continue to eat less frequently when you are away from her. She might be taking more in with the bottle than at the breast which could be why she doesn't need to eat as frequently when you're not with her.
