Toddlers: 24 Months+

How often does your PT'd toddler still have accidents?

And how long has it been since they've been PT'd?

Also, do they typically happen in bed or while playing, or both?

 TIA!

  • He was daytime PTed last Summer. This summer we got rid of nighttime Pull-Ups. I would say he has 1-2 nighttime accidents per week. They occur when he sleeps in later than usual.

  • Ds has been pt'd for about six months.  There was one week recently where he peed two or three times a day and we had to have a major talk, and we upped reminders, etc.  he was just too busy playing to go.  Other than that, he has maybe an accident a month.  Not often, but he's also almost three and a half.  He wears a pull up at night.

  • I started potty training DD2 a couple weeks ago when she started telling me when she had to go potty. She still has at least one accident a day. I haven't figured out why she sometimes knows when she has to go and sometimes doesn't. She either tells me before she goes or as she's going. Accidents generally happen while she's playing. She still nurses before naps, before bed, and during the night, so she still wakes with a wet diaper usually.

  • I potty trained my oldest about 6 months ago, the week before his third birthday, so he was quite a bit older than your child. He has only ever had one accident while playing, he ran to the bathroom but couldn't get his clothes off in time.
  • She typically has an accident once every few weeks. It's always when she's playing hard. She hasn't had a bedtime accident in a few months.

    She's been PTed since December.

THis sounds about the rate as mine, but yesterday she just started peeing while we were home playing out of nowhere, and hadn't done that since I trained her, and then she wet the bed last night for the first time in a good solid month. I'm hoping the two are just coincidental and that she's not regressing!

Same here, except we started in March. Accidents are always at naptimes, as I'm trying to ditch the pullups. He doesn't wear a diaper or pullup for naps at daycare, so his accidents at home are a mental problem, not physical.

  • DD has been PT'd since March, she's had 2 accidents since then, one during nap and one she just didn't make it in time from playing with her cousins. She was more upset than me so I didn't even have to fuss. Also, she does not wear a pull-up except for at night.
