January 2013 Moms

I'm just going to puke the whole time.

I'll be 19 weeks tomorrow and I'm still throwing up. It's not every day or pervasive nausea but it's still here. I throw up like 2-4 times a week and I just think it's here to stay. I have a prescription for zofran but it stops me up so badly. I guess if it comes down to it, I'd rather puke than not poop or strain to poop. Anybody else still in this boat?

  • Yeah, I'm at 16 weeks and still throwing up sometimes.  I noticed it's when I eat pizza or ice cream, so I'm just staying away from those now.  I thought it would be gone by now, but I think I'm with you, just going to be sick the whole time!  I'm just glad it isn't all day every day like it was first tri.

I take my Zofran though, and it is killer on my GI tract.  I've found relief by taking 1 Colace pill a day, as my CNM told me it is used to soften not to create a BM so it isn't about taking it when you get in trouble but to use in conjunction with the Zofran as preventative.

My pharmacist told me that she had m/s and threw up almost, if not every single day until about 25 weeks.  I guess m/s just effects everyone differently.

    Hope you feel better soon!

  • I am still getting sick. Not all day everyday but at least once a week of throwing up and nausea usually at some point in the day but not all day.

I take Zofran occasionally. I took colace daily when I took Zofran daily. My OB said I could take up to three colace a day. My last pregnancy I had nausea until about 26 weeks.

  • I'm finally feeling better! I actually stopped taking my zofran 3 weeks ago. It made me so ridiculously constipated that I ended up feeling worse. Severe constipation can make you nauseous too. If the zofran isn't helping, maybe try to stop it got a few days? (I was taking miralax, colace, prunes, apricots, tons of water to no avail!)
  • I am a pretty anti meds kind of gal so I tired everything under the roof. I am on my 5th day of not puking!! I started taking a high quality Vitamin B6 from sprouts market and I was amazed at how it has helped.  I couldn't imagine taking another pill so even when so many people were telling me to try it, I did not want to swallow another thing at night. So glad I did. The pill is so so small that I did not have a problem at all. 100% of puking is gone and about 90% of nausea.

  • Yeah, I just got off of a Zofran pump- which injected the stuff subcutaneously 24/7. I am now taking the oral Zofran and throw up about once a day. Much better than 20 times a day, but I miss pooping regularly and without serious pain :/ I know this doesn't help you feel any better, but at least we're not alone with ongoing sickness. Good luck and enjoy the times when you feel great.

  • Just woke up and it's almost 4am.. why? Nausea! It comes more in waves now than the constant nausea of the first 14 weeks. I am still occasionally puking, but I still feel pretty crappy most of the time.

My Mom was sick until 20 weeks with each of her 3 pregnancies. I expect to be sick at least that long, but I'm with you. I'm starting to just think it might never go away.

  • I'm also still sick a few times a week. It's the luck of the draw.

  • Wow, so I'm not the only one having serious constipation problems from taking Zofran! Could anyone tell me what Colace is? I've been taking stool softener and exlax, but that only makes me go like once a week. I've been drinking lots of water, and I can pee plenty! Just pooping is the problem!Stick out tongue

  • I'm 15 weeks and morning sickness is still going strong. I'm not getting sick multiple times a day every day anymore, but every 2-3 days I get sick and on those days I throw up at least twice. I still feel a little nauseous on the days I don't throw up. I've accepted it and just gotten used to it. With DS I wasn't nearly this sick but it did last until 18 weeks. I'm hoping in another 3 weeks this will be a thing of the past.
