  • I don't have the diagram, but since you have been pregnant before, your uterus could be a lot higher than the diagram shows. At my 12 week appointment, my OB found LOs heartbeat about 2 inches above my hairline.
  • What I'm feeling is belly button level so that doesn't seem right ... BUT also look like I did around 20 weeks last time.

  • At my 17 week appt my midwife kept trying to find the heart beat and was having trouble. She moved up to right at my BB and there it was so it definitely can vary. This is baby #3 for me.

Wow, that is high! I think it's possible since everyone is different. I just started feeling LO and it's about halfway between my BB and hairline.

  • when i was 19 weeks my ob said my uterus was about an inch above my belly button by doing a stomach exam and showing her intern how to tell...so i feel like this chart may be off...

  • Yes this can vary a lot. At 18 weeks I was a full inch above my belly button. Now I'm 23 and almost 3 inches above it. I have a super short torso and my doctor said it happens like that sometimes, especially if you're short.

  • Don't forget that the diagram is just a guideline of averages.  At my 16 week appointment I was measuring closer to 19 weeks.  The doc said (kinda jokingly) that we'll see at my U/S if there are twins in there, but I know there aren't because I paid for a non-medical U/S at 8 weeks.  It's likely just because my husband is uncommonly tall and so far our little one is taking after him.
