Sesame Place or Six Flags Great Adventure (NJ)

Hi ladies. I'm trying to decide between Sesame Place or Great Adventure for Season Passes for next year.  I know I have time for Great Adventure but if I am going to go with Sesame Place and get it now, I can use it for the remainder of this season as well as next year.  DD1 is going to be 4 this Oct. and DD2 just turned one.  I haven't been to Sesame Place since I was little so don't remember how big it is, how much is there.  I have been to Great Adventure, not very recently though, but don't remember if there is really a ton for little ones.  Distance wise it's not that much difference, Sesame is about an hour to an hour 15 minutes, Great Adventure is probably about 45 minutes.  Any info/input you ladies can give me would be greatly appreciated.  TIA.

  • We took DD (4) and DS (2) to Sesame Place in July and they LOVED it!! We did 2 days a wet day and a dry day. It's not huge  and you could do it in a day, but we didn't stay late either day to accommodate VERY tired little people.

    It was AWESOME!!

  • I live about the same distance from both parks as you. My daughter loved Sesame Place!!! We are going again in 2 weeks. I haven't brought her to Great Adventure but I've been there a million times and I definitely think Sesame Place is the more kid friendly option.

  • We have Sesame Place season pass and our 3 year old loves it.  We only go for a few hours at a pop, usually early before the crowds arrive. My daughter loves the shows. Their food is terrible but you can bring in your own, which is great.
  • We did Sesame a few months ago and the boys loved it/ From what I remember Six flag is not a great place for little ones/

  • I would go with Sesame Place over Six Flags although the drive through safari is cute. But if you don't mind the extra drive we just did Dutch Wonderland in Lancaster PA today and it was perfect for DD 2 and so much cheaper than Sesame Place, there were more rides and the food didn't suck.
