Nolan and Harper arrived (late post)

Hello ladies! The last month has been crazy and the couple of months before that were just miserable so it's been a little while since I've posted here, I posted quite a few times during 1st and 2nd tri.  But I thought I would update and let those of you who recognize me know my babies arrived.  They were born June 25th which was 37 weeks 1 day, 1 week exactly before my schedualed c-section date.

My husband works nights and since I've only worked part time in the evenings since we got married I've always kept the same sleep schedual as him.  So in the early morning of the 25th we were sitting out on the porch swing, as that seemed to be the only place that made me feel better when I was having contractions or sciatic nerve pain.  Sitting outside in the fresh air was soothing for me.  We noticed I was having a lot of contractions but they never seemed regular.  I was having bad sciatic nerve pain in my tailbone that continued to get worse and worse.

Around 6am we went inside to lay down for bed when my sciatic nerve pain became excrutiatingly painful about every 5 minutes, accompanied by an aweful pain in my lower back.  It was so painful that I wasn't really paying any attention to whether or not my stomach was feeling tight.  I began crying (partially in pain and partially out of being very tired and frustrated) and asked DH to call the hospital.  We honestly didn't believe I was really in labor, but I was in a lot of pain and felt that someone at the hospital could fix it.  The nurse he talked to suggested we come in to be monitored so we did.  Sure enough I was having strong contractions every 2-3 minutes. I was only 1cm and 50% effaced but they decided since I was a schedualed c/s the following week that we could go ahead and deliver.

So at 11:19am Nolan Isaac was born weighing 5lbs 15oz, 19 inches, and at 11:20 his sister, Harper Denae, arrived weighing 5lbs 13oz, 18.5 inches.  The c/s went great, I highly recommend it, and both babies were perfectly healthy.  We did have to stay and extra day because both babies lost more the 10% of their birth weight, but they gained back enough for us to go home the following afternoon.

Twins are definitely awesome, exhausting, but awesome.  We're so ready for them to start sleeping through the night, but until then we're trying to soak up each phase.

Thanks for the support you ladies gave me during my pregnancy and I'm sure the support I'll continue to recieve and need over the next few years. :)
