River has arrived!

River Miranda was born at 7:52 this morning. She weighs 7lbs 1oz and is 19.5 inches long.
There is only the short version of my birth story lol. I had 511 contractions all day yesterday and by 11pm they were still only moderate so we went to bed. They woke me up every hour but I kept going back to sleep. At 3 am one woke me up and I couldn't go back to sleep something told me to go check my pad and Lo and Behold- bloody show. I woke DH up and we made breakfast before heading to the hospital. By the time we got to l&d I couldn't sit through them and I had the shakes. How had I forgotten that part? Oh the shakes were the worst part. I sat on the ball long enough to have my iv antibiotic and my mom arrived just as I was being unhooked.
I labored in the shower after that. Since L&d was packed they called in my mw and she stayed with me the entire time, applying counter pressure to my back and talking me through the rough ones. She checked me at 6am and I was at a 7 with a bulging bag. My water broke at 10 with a lip so I had to try to not push (ha!). I was on all 4s on the bed when River began to crown. I said "Oh my butt hurts, something is burning" and reached down to feel the top of her head. I said oh I'm crowning, I didn't feel this last time" too which the mw replied not yet and put her hand down there to feel. She hastily had me lay on my side because she was indeed crowning much to everyone's surprise and I was about to tear. After a few small pushes I was pulling her on to my tummy. She came so fast(with in 15 min of my water breaking) and had a short cord do she didn't immediately start breathing so they took her to the warming table where she instantly screamed. She pooped all over my belly.

......and so, was this the midwife you wanted to deliver? if not, how'd it go? sounded pretty smooth.....also, i'm so happy it sounds like you were definitely not alone like you feared. happiness all around!

Yes! When I got here there were 3 other girls about to deliver so they called my old lady in! Since I was the only one of the 4 to be going natural (and because I was progressing very quickly) Deb stayed with me from the moment she got here until I was done.
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, she's so perfect and adorable! I love her name!!!!!! I AM CAPITAL LETTERS EXCITED FOR YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
