50 Shades of Grey baby boom

I saw on a morning show that there is a baby boom going on because of the 50 Shades trilogy.

They say to expect a lot of babies to be named Christian, Anastasia etc.

The boom is expected to hit from February on.

I never read the books but I think it's funny that it's starting a baby boom.

It should be from January on since the book came out the beginning of April. I hate to say it but that's how I ended up on the Jan 2013 board Embarrassed

LOL Shanda! The book really took off in May which is why they are using February as the start of the boom. I am sure you aren't the only January mama that is having a "Greybie"!

I actually hate that the news is going so crazy with this. I've actually been asked a couple of times if that's why I'm pregnant, sorry to disappoint but this one was planned!

This baby was a surprise, but it has nothing to with 50 shades. It's a combo of Easter, Catholic guilt, and an early ovulation.

Same. I read them because of the hype. But I was never turned on by these books, the sex almost always made me uncomfortable. I'm not in the S&M/D&S tpye stuff.

This is funny! While DH planned this pregnancy, reading the books did help out

I also did like both of those names but wouldn't dream of naming my child that now...

I'm definitely not pregnant BECAUSE of 50 Shades, but reading it sure did help put me in the baby making mood. LOL I guess I'm part of the boom. I liked the books, so I really don't mind.

Never read them and not interested. Plus, I dont need a book to make we want to do my husband. I dont think Id be all that thrilled if a hundred guys were reading some exotic book and people were saying some "sexy, fictional, female character" was the reason my husband wanted sex and the cause for my pregnancy.

I hated those books.....and I normally am a huge romance fan (even some erotica). I just thought that the female lead was so weak and annoying....and the writing was very poor (it should have just stayed fan fiction).

I agree! Haven't read them and will NEVER read them... Thankfully my family and friends know about our struggle and the route we ended up taking to get pregnant so I shouldn't have to deal with this question... I hope!

One of my besties asked if this was a 50 Shades baby! I adamently said N.O. bc I hated the book! Couldn't even pick up the 2nd. But it made me laugh

I totally agree. I actually like the books (half way through the second), despite the awful and immature writing style. However, I hate when people accredit a group of babies being born to a book series. I was reading the books when we got pregnant, but it had nothing to do with the books. We were trying to make a baby folks.

I feel the same way... I did this planned and I will flip if one person ask me. I do not care for that nor want to ever read or watch the movie... Grrrr , I deal with people daily that feels like they are family to me so they feel like they can tell me anything lol.
