I'm trying to decide which one to buy. A friend of mine recommended the K'tan, but I've also heard some good things about the Moby...any personal experiences to help me out??
I never had a Baby K'tan but absolutely LOVED my Moby wrap. I tried several different carriers and the Moby was the only one where I felt DD was well enough supported without me keeping an arm/hand on her (basically holding her in the carrier). I think I wore my Moby every single day for the first 6-8 months of her life. (She hated the stroller/car seat so whenever we walked I wore her.) I absolutely LOVE my Moby.
Some people say that they have a hard time putting the Moby on, but I watched a few videos on youtube of how to do it and after a bit of practice I could have my moby on and tied in under a minute.

I just googled the k'tan and one of the things I'm noticing is that it's only good for babies 8 lbs and up which could be a problem if you have a small newborn. There's no way that would have worked for my 5 lb child (I don't think she was 8 lbs until almost 2 or 3 months old), but the Moby was great.

I think it depends on preference. I just brought a Moby for myself, since I want the flexibility, but really loved my ring sling and mei tei the first time around. We got a K'tan for DH, since he's going to be in a wheelchair or crutches and needed something easy and quick to put on, simple to figure out and flexible on where it lies on his back.

I've heard great things about the Baby K'Tan and that's what we've registered for (nobody has bought it yet but we're keeping our fingers crossed that someone will before LO gets here!). Just to add another option to the mix, I've also heard great things about the Ergo.
If you have the option, I would recommend going to a store to try each of the wraps on that you are considering purchasing... or if you have friends with babies, ask them if they would be willing to let you try on the carriers with a baby in them, so that you can see which one you actually find to be most comfortable for you & for DH.
I bought the moby.. Just listened to friends and research. The things is looonngggg drags the ground but it will hold my baby when she comes just fine
If it's dragging on the ground you can wrap it around you either another 1/2 time or all the way around again. Just keep wrapping the ends until they're at a good point for you. You can also tie it on the side so that the knot isn't pushed into your stomach by baby or your back when you sit down. You'll get the hang of it quick.
I LOVE my moby. I couldn't have lived without it the first time around and I don't expect to need to this time around.
I had both. LOVED the Moby. HATED the K'Tan. It stretches way too much and I bought it one size SMALLER than I measured. I even spoke with the company about it and they told me to wash and dry it so it could shrink. I did it 3 times, but STILL no luck. It was way too stretchy.
I also feel like the Moby has more options.

There are instructions online on how to make a moby-style wrap without having to sew anything.. It's just a big piece of strong stretch fabric anyway, with instructions on how to wrap it.
With the $50 I won't be spending on the wrap, I'll buy fabric to have multiple wraps in different colors to have a variety. Also, since fabric isn't so expensive I won't feel as guilty about trimming the extra fabric off so it's not too long!

Isn't the Baby K'tan one that has to be a specific size? Mobies are a "one size fits all" thing.
The thing with the Baby K'tan is that I think it's just one step shorter than the Moby....
I've worn a Moby twice (one at a store where they helped me, and one on my own while babysitting a 2 month old baby). The second time I wore it, I was putting it on backwards, and realizing that the baby wasn't going to fit properly, so I started over, and got it right the second time, and that was without anyone there to tell me if I was doing it right, just from my own memorization. It's pretty easy, I think, once you do it a few times.
I plan on getting the Moby.

K'tan! SO much easier than the moby and gives you the exact same end result. I hated all the wrapping of the moby and ended up getting rid of it. the k'tan is really easy to use and you dont have a ridiculous amount of fabric, so it doesnt drag and you dont end up wrapping yourself like a mummy, lol. i didnt have any problem with the size - got the smaller one like they said and it fit great. also, about the minimum weight, moby starts at 8lb also (i think all carriers do now because of the new safety standards for slings). i still used my k'tan right away though...
