what name do you like best? 

1. Betsy (my only slight drawback is that I usually like names that can have a nickname - but if we go w/Betsy, it will be Betsy - not Elizabeth or whatever...)

2. Amelia (I feel like we could use the nickname "Lia" ) Do you think it's getting too popular?

3. Maribel - I love the nickname Mary because it's a family name.  (my husband isn't too sold on the nickname Mary, he prefers "Belle")   Also, what spelling do you like better:  Maribel or Maribelle?

    I love Betsy- so cute. Amelia is really pretty too. Maribel isn't bad, but I like the others better. Betsy is probably my favorite.

    I like Maribel. I have a friend with that name, but she doesn't go by any nicknames. I don't like the nn Mary though. I do like Besty also.

    1. Not a fan.

    2. LOVE - DD is Amelia, but we are sticking with Amelia.  I like nn Lia or Mia.  I've heard Amy too, but not a huge fan of that name.

    3. Like Maribelle, but not maribel.  I like Belle better than Mary.

    Betsy is too cutsie and dated sounding for me. Amelia is getting really popular, but if that doesn't bother you, than it's fine. Maribel is different and pretty (I like Maribelle), but makes me think of a cow for some reason. Maybe because of the cow Clarabelle on Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.

    Like pp, Betsy is too cutesy and informal for my taste.

    Amelia is getting super popular. I've never heard of Lia as a nn, that sound isn't even in the name so I don't even know how you could get that nn out of it. Out of the 3 this is the best name even though I really dislike it because it reminds me of the children's book character Amelia Bedelia.

    Maribel reminds me of a cow too.  Too frou-frou and ditzy-sounding.
