Infertility

Started Stims this morning...

So, it's finally here!  Seems like this has taken forever.  And the best part??  In my super sleepy state this morning I dialed up my Follistim pen to 150 IU and started to inject it and saw the numbers going down and was like "no, it's supposed to be 150" and dialed it back up and injected it again.  I'm super smart.  So, I basically OD'd myself by about 15 IU's.  I called my nurse this morning and she said no biggie, but I felt like an idiot!

Also, has anyone else ever had joint pain as a result of Lupron?  I know it's a listed side effect, but I hadn't noticed anything until about 3 nights ago--now my hips just ACHE when I lay down.  It's bad!  Hard to sleep.  I'm hoping getting the stim drugs started will help counter act that.

Re: Started Stims this morning...

  • I screwed up my menopur this weekend on my 3rd day of stims. I mixed the whole bottle of diluent into the powder instead of 150 ccs. I also felt like an idiot, but I called and the nurse said it was no biggie as well! I just got to stick myself twice to make sure I got all the drugs.

I havent had joint pain with Lupron but I have had the stuffy nose.

  • Good luck with stims! I always find it amazing how long the process seems to take, but once you make it to ER/ET  and look back at it all it always seems like it has flown by.

  • I never took Lupron for any length of time, so I'm not sure about the joint pain, but you are not alone on the med mixups! I got so wacky during stimming that even though I had the same protocol everyday, I got all confused about what to do when!
