Stupid heat . . .

I live in a very, very old Victorian house. While we have central heat and air, our house still has difficulties keeping up with this awful heat wave in Kansas (9pm here and still 100 degrees).

So the upstairs, where Hank sleeps, is well over 80 degrees and we think has been a major factor in his sleeping difficulties. So, we are putting him back in the pack and play bassinet in our room on the main floor where it is much cooler.  Here's  to hoping he doesn't get too used to it and that we get some, any, relief from this heat soon.

  • That is how our house is.... we ended up putting a window unit in his room and it has helped a ton!

Never even considered that! We bought two tower fans and keep the overhead fan going but it has been little help.  Thanks for the good idea!

  • No problem! If you do get one, be sure to get one where you can adjust the temp. We set his to 75 degrees, plus the sound of it helps him sleep too.

  • We have a window unit as well in Cole's room, and it's provided a lot of relief this summer.  These temperatures have been killer in Chicago too.  My husband also installed a new ceiling fan that helps too.
