Dr. Google says...

Hives. I have random itchy spots on my body, with new ones appearing everyday of course. And my raised bumps are never red, and dr on Friday didn't say she saw PUPP rash.

I want to scratch all my skin off!!! For once in my life I wish I were a nail biter so scratching wouldn't feel so good!

Seems like dr. Google needs to be shut down, there are too many of us relying on it recently!

  • What is PUPP? I am a FTM and have never heard of it. The whole underside of my belly is super itchy and I can't stop scratching, I don't know if it is just the skin stretching more or what.

PUPPPS is a pregnancy rash that is extremely itchy (I would say way worse than poison ivy or poison oak).  Almost always starts in the stretch marks on your belly and is red bumps.

Totally normal to have some itchiness with your belly since the skin is stretching.  A good thick (and fragrance free/sensitive) lotion/cream should help some for that.  If you are concerned it's more than normal itching it wouldn't hurt to mention it to your doctor so he can check your bile levels and such, especially if your hands or feet are itchy too.  This could be a sign of Cholestasis perhaps?  Ditto to OP, especially if you say it's your whole body with no rash.  I hope it's nothing!!  I had PUPPPS with my first (hoping I can avoid it this time), and it's NO fun.

  • My OB checked mine out to make sure it was PUPPPS not Cholestitis, which could be harmful to the baby.  She had me take Benedryl and use Aveeno wash.  When that wore off, she prescribed me a lotion.  HTH!

I second the Aveeno wash and the cooling lotion.

  • From what I read cholestasis doesn't show up as a rash just intense itching and you said you have raised bumps right?

Sounds like PUPPS, I have it, it's awful, I hope you don't have it.  I refused to use the steroid cream prescribed to me by my doctor as it was a class C drug so instead I used Ice and go buy yourself some Dr. Bronner's castille soap (I used the lemon one cause it's what I had at home, I use it for laundry detergent).  My rash is almost all gone!  It took about 2 weeks for it to go away and you should find it in your health food store.  I used a natural creme with vitamin e and olive oil during the day and ice packs at night.  As of now though I barely ever get itchy anymore!

Please keep in mind (if you care about these things) that a lot of the stuff on the shelf is a class C drug (tested on animals and shown to have adverse effect on the fetus).  Yes our fetuses are pretty well cooked but I still don't like to use them.  Aveeno anti itch cream and Gold Bond are all things I purchased and returned to the store unused because after going home and checking the ingredients they turned out to be dangerous!

  • I bought an Aveeno calming lotion with oatmeal and oatmeal oil. It helps for a little bit.

Yes mine raises up little bumps only when I scratch, otherwise it goes away, including on my belly. I may bring it up to dr again this week but consensus on here and the internet is  there's no cure but delivery.
